There's a tiny half mile track (don't laugh) near my house. I put the Buell on it yesterday and found after 5 laps my front brakes were gone. They had a really wooden feeling and it was hard to slow the bike down. On the way home in the twistys the bike felt fine though. I guess the Lyndalls dont like the heat.

They're NOT recommended for the track!

+1 to that, they are street pads.

im in the market for some new pads, passing through an old thread of mine.. the lyndall gold was most reccomended, but there are 3other types of brake pads avaliable from American Sport Bike: - Braking CM55 - EBC Sintered - Ferodo Sintered (Cryo Processed).... whats the difference between these 3pads? and whats sintered?

I've used the golds on the street for a while with good results. Wouldn't take them on the track though.

I've had great luck with Galfers, the Blast has been one finger stopping with these,no serious disc wear, and they work fine hot as well. Is there a Galfer pad for the XBs? The Ferado eat up discs, and the EBC wear quickly if aggressively used. So yeah - I'd like to stay with a superior pad when I get my XB.

I have used the Lyndall's on the track. I didn't have any fade issues, but I would agree that there are better track pad options.

The Lyndall's are great for aggressive street use, but I don't find the heavy track pads as desireable for street use.

this track i was on has 4 hard braking areas all within a 45second lap, they never get a chance to cool down. The tracks a bit small for the 12R but i thought id give it a go.

Does anyone know the differences between all these different brake compounds?

My lyndalls did not do well on a 1.3 mile track, with the brake lever tight against the grip at 100mph coming up to a tight right hand turn I was a little worried. That said I went back to EBC's and am back in love.
