O Ring. Buy a manual, it will be your best friend.

I had my clutch cabled replaced under warranty for same thing. Dealer thought it was the o-ring but when they took it apart is was actually the clutch cable itself leaking where it screws into the primary cover.

If you replace the O-ring and/or the cable, DON'T overtighten the fitting where it screws in the primary. Barely snug it up with a short wrench. The clutch cable fitting is made of aluminum and is F-R-A-G-I-L-E. DAMHIK.

I tried everything mentioned above, and a few that weren't. The only solution I found was neatly wrapping it with high quality electrical tape. If done correctly no one will notice. Hasn't leaked a drop since.

Had same problem but it was after bike was sitting thru the winter. Just before I put bike away changed oil and never ran it again until spring. After wiping it off and riding for first time in spring never leaked again. Read some post on here about primary being over-serviced. I think that was it, oil sat above proper level and seeped out cable. Level is not supposed to be that high. Not sure this helps you good luck just double check level.
