So my bike fell over the other day (parked it on a hill, windy day) and busted up a few things. I replaced the left-front turn-signal and also the left driver's footpeg. Anyway the other issue that's still occurring is it's leaking lubricant out of the lower corner of the clutch inspection cover.

To remedy this, I opened it up and inspected it, the edge itself where the cover fastens to is a bit dinged up and appears to be leaking from there. I filled back up with lubricant, replaced the gasket and put the cover back on. Still leaking when the bike is on the kickstand.

So now I'm worried I might have to replace the entire half of that case. Any other suggestions to stop the leak? It's a very slow leak. What about maybe doubling up on the gaskets to fill out the extra gap that is present now?

What about some silicone sealant? If possible post a picture of the damage.

Did you use a new gasket? It not, try that first. Then try some liquid gasket type stuff.

Agree with paint shaker on the new gasket and liquid gasket goop.

I tried a new gasket, no luck. Doubled-up with two gaskets and still leaking. Going to try some silicone/liquid gasket next.

Timusmc- be sure you follow the directions on the silicone. Most say something like "Apply, let skin over, then tighten part lightly. After ~2 hours tighten down completely." If you tighten the cover down completely before the silicone sets, most of it may be squeezed out and won't do as good a job of sealing.

...and just one gasket. Two rarely work, they compound creases/folds, etc., and defeat the purpose.

Just an update, I used some liquid gasket (RTV Black) and that did the trick. Let it set with a light closing of the gasket then tightened down, and no more leaks.

Only problem I have now is when I was working on it, I had removed the clutch hex lock nut and my girlfriend was sitting on the bike to keep it vertical. In her unwitting boredom she decided to disengage the clutch lever and messed up my clutch adjustment. Found a post on here on how to adjust it, got it working but it's not perfect. Might have to take it into the dealer to get a proper adjustment. At which point they'll probably ridicule my liquid gasket mess : )

I think if you scare up the online S1 manual, it'll tell you enough to get the clutch adjusted. The factory manual is worth the $60 it costs (which is less then an hour of dealer labor).
