2 pairs of clean underwear

2 pairs of clean socks

2 T-shirts (clean)

1 pair of shorts

Shaving kit

Money

Cell phone

Cell phone charger

It's the same if it's a three day trip or a two week trip.

You doing it solo? Any stops besides the hotel or are you camping?

Just for 3 days (2 nights) you can "go commando" and just wash socks in the hotel sink. I justcarry a credit card. You really don't need to pack anything except a rain cover-up and the layers you will be riding in - morning, HEAT of day, night.

Unless you're meeting people, you just don't stink bad enough to HAVE to change clothes that often.

Sometimes I take it as a challenge to see HOW LIGHT I can do it when travelling.

OK - if you GOTTA:

Cell phone
qt oil
basic tool set

Camera. And post the pics!

I'm taking off Friday AM with the wife for a weekend trip around Lake Michigan. Bringing a GPS too. Some basic tools wouldn't hurt. Rain Gear. A change of cloths is nice.

It could be a life saver to pack your spare key somewhere too. Easy enough to pack!

Hey.. yeah... as long as you don't pack it under the seat!

A friend did that with his R1... and somehow mis-placed his first key...

We got to the backup key... but he had to do some "fixing" afterwards.

Hey.. yeah... as long as you don't pack it under the seat!

I've learned to always make sure I've got my keys when locking my car door. I've also been known to make sure I've got my keys, zip them into my jacket, throw the jacket in the car, and slam the door. Knew what I did before the door even closed.

I just packed up my tire gauge for my trip. How much you want/can carry is a personal thing. When I'm going for more than a day I carry lots of layers. Just so I can store them if I take them off. My brother was down in NC last month visiting is son at Fort Bragg. They took a ride to the coast for a nice day trip. It got down to 47 degrees by the time they got back. He said he was not prepared for that at all, but his son HAD to be back on base. Serves him right for not inviting me along!

We always pack our stuff in our bags lined with a plastic bag to help keep everything dry in case it rains.
