We were at a warehouse watching a bunch of stunt'ers. I was Watching Because i dont / wont do that stuff to my baby. I was parked and off my bike and my stupid a55 friend decided it was a good idea to do a burn out with his bike facing mine. Well needless to say his back tire caught grip and slammed into my bike knocking it to the cement. I was VERY surprised to find that the Frame was undamaged. The Damage was Right turn signal Right Handle Bar "bent" Break Lever Right bar end; Left Head light bezel "from his bike hitting mine" small Scratches On the Swing arm and Engine. Also Some Scratches on my Plastic. Does anyone know the part number for the Left Bezel; Right clip on Handle bar; And Break lever? My friend is paying for all the stuff We already bought turn signals so i can ride legally. Just need to get some part numbers. Also Is there any way i can wet sand down the Plastic to get rid of the scratches? Any help on the process would be helpfull. Those scratches should be able to be sanded out with very fine sandpaper (1000grit or higher)then follow the directions in the owners manual for scratches. | ||

like wycked said, you can sand em out, but be prepared for a LOT of buffing to get the shine back. so, hows your friends face look? like the plastic on your bike i hope. | ||

I don't think the plastic will buff out like paint does. | ||

If you smooth it out with fine grit then follow the instructions in the manual it works pretty good. | ||

thanks ill have to try it out next sunday. I only have one Day off Both my jobs a week; so sundays are the day. I have small scratches on the swing arm so i think i am going to Pay someone to polish the frame and swing arm; how much you think one would charge for such a task on an XB? Thanks XB9r43, I know I know I need a part book But i was just trying to get the part numbers to give my friend so he can go get the stuff. I work Two full time jobs i dont have time to go down to harley and get part numbers. Ben | ||

If you use ultra fine sandpaper and then buffing/rubbing compound with a orbital buffer you can make those scratched areas look better than new!! I did this on my wifes Blast's plastics and you can't even tell where the scratches were. |
