Finish the plastics after cutting them. See i bought a crash cage and a 12 bar and plastic mods are needed just want to know what to do so it doesn't look so ruff around the edges

First shape whit what-ever you need to do the job.
Then a mill (fine) file to finish shaping and a little smoothing.
Then some 240 grit wet or dry.
Then some 400, then 600, then 1000 grit.
Then some plastic polish.

I changed the shape of both my 1125 and XB front fender this way. All edges are nice and shinny. Even the black one.
