...and last night in the rain I declared victory: heated grips plus chopped handguards- they worked awesomely. So there ya go: it can be done on an R.

I like that. I wonder how it would look with the white plastics.

Hey! What cruise control is that, and how did you do it? Any more pics?

Nice mods. I just added the wind/handgaurds as well, but for some reason, the barend piece on the left grip keeps popping out on me. Are yours solid?

thanks
pete

My right barend works it's way out, but it's because I had to trim the flanges to get it in. I ordered a new one ($15 ea!) and will glue it.

Is that the factory heated grip kit on your Firebolt?

I declared a war on cold hands too. I moved to Florida Nice headlights! What is the right one from? Is it a car headlight? I've always wandered how a fog light from Oldsmobile Alero would look on a firebolt ; )

Xbrfirebolt: heaters are Syntec from American Sport Bike, and they work so well that I haven't had to use the "high" setting yet. The factory kit probably wouldn't work with my cruise control mod because of where the wire exits.

Miko_k, Fastxb12r is right- search "Hella 90mm". They are outstanding, even at night, in the rain, with my dark helmet visor. But the installation was difficult, to say the least. Dave at rallylights.com says the Hella 60mm modules are a drop-in solution. Wish I'd known, they're cheaper too!

Thanks Man.
Wow, pricey, but worth it to me. Problem is, they still don't list buells on their website, so which model did you order? Thanks again for the link and great write up.
