I need some advise…. I want to do a little painting on my black XB9S. My goal: A black bike that no longer looks like I am the Oakland Raiders mascot. My current ideas: 1. Red wheel rims and red highlights on the hugger. All else remains stock colors. Kinda Ducati Monster like… 2. Gold wheel rims and gold highlights on the hugger. All else remains stock colors. Kinda like the XB12… 3. Black out the whole bike. Kinda like the new Triumph Speed Triple…. 4. Blue wheel rims and blue highlights on the hugger. All else remains stock colors. Kinda like the new Aprilia Mille. Have you seen one of these combinations? Which one do you like and why? Thanks, Ron

I've seen Gold wheels on a a black bike, your bike would look like a 12.The read wheels sound cool and so does the blue. The blacked out version I've seen on Tats bike at American Sportbike, the old owner anyway. |

Blue wheels in the gallery on the UKBeg site. I cannot decide if I should change the seat on my metalflake red bike, which now looks rather plain. I rather fancy suede except when it rains! I sent the hangars away to be powder-coated satin black and will have polished pegs, kickplates and levers. Then I will stop before the full 'Tarts handbag' effect occurs! |

I kinda like the black with maybe a day-glo yellow. Outline wheels and some trim with the flouresent yellow on a glossy black! I saw a Spidi leather suit that would match perfect. I have been thinking about that combination myself but don't think I will do it cuz I just perfer the stock, clean look! Good luck chosing and I am sure whatever you pick will look awesome and different! |

Gold or red, I just think the blue doesn't go well with black !!! CJ |

I plan on going with the blacked out theme on my 9S. With a few polished parts for accents. I don't know what my second choice would be. Blue wouldn't be bad but it would have to be a darker blue than the one above. |

Hey Ron.. I have a pic of an XB9S with red rims, there kinda anodised looking, really cool look. I just stumbled across it about a month ago, saved it thinking I may do that to my xb9s some time. Its just to big of a pic to post, if you post your email address I'll send it to you. I really stress you should go with the red rims. Email address and I'll send you the pic.. ! |

Oh and almost forgot... Go to www.americansportbike.com They have there black xb9s on there with black rims. Looks pretty good, but just too much black for me. Check that link, it should be at the bottom of the page. Have a few pics of it if you want an idea of that color combo.

I am amazed at the friendly help I find on this website.... Thanks To be honest, that is a bit toooooo red. I guess I am thinking about a darker red color for the rims, like I see on Ducati Monsters.... and just maybe it doesn't really work, style-wise, without a dark frame color... Bottom line, for now, still looking for that perfect combo.... Ron |

Are those rims painted or powder coated? And who did them? Also, are the stripes painted or are they decals? |

The stripes on the rims, I believe are decals from tapeworks. I have them on my YZ250. |
