Here's a question I bet no one's asked before (sound of sarcasm entering the room...

Can I use the small rear fender from an Scg on my Ss in order to eliminate the upper belt guard? Otherwise, it'll take some patience and creativity- neither of which I have- with a dremel to remove the belt guard from the stock Ss fender at the risk of making it look like ka-kah.

TIA.

Just out of curiosity...why remove the guard at all?

Keeps crap from flipping up onto you and the underside of the bike.
I know, I've looked. While it obviously isn't chain lube, it's still pretty grubby.

the stock rear hugger does zero in keeping crap off the under side of the tail or the rider on an Ss. I have the tea strainer elimiator and get mud up my back weither i have the rear hugger on or not. the stock rear hugger with the upper belt guard will protect you or a passanger from a belt flying off. i have seen a welt from that off a Harley on a lady passangers leg. didn't tickle.

I thought about removing mine (Ss as well), but it looks like that upper belt is more for wet conditions. Being out from underneath the tail, I bet it would sling muck all over the place.
