Yes, I see a problem...it's called a Dunlop D207. Do yourself a favour and get rid of it : )
You won't regret it.
These bikes are highly strung and as someone else said very sensitive to rider input. This is one of the reasons they are so much fun to ride. They are not like other bikes and can do funny things until you've done a reasonable amount of time on them. Just change the tyre, make sure everythings tight and go for it.

I may be experiencing the same thing, but quite frankly, I'm not sure what should feel "right". Since I've recently worn out my D207 on the rear and ordered a new set of Pirelli Diablos, I'll see if was the tires or me!

All of these checks are good idea's,but I had same problem. Checked all the same stuff,by 2K miles it was bad enough.Went and bought a new set of tires(AVONS) and problem disapeared. I think BUELL just got a really good price on some crappy tires.Any how gota 1K miles on new tires not a hint of the old problem......Later Charlie

Its where the centerline of the tire is the highspot instead of smoothly around.

That's exactly what I felt on the tire and that's why I asked that question. I'm still trying to figure out how that occurs...the portion of the tire showing the most wear is raised, relative to the parts of the tire showing less wear.

I believe I'll change out the front tire at the first opportunity and see what happens. When they change the tire, I make sure they check the wheel run out.

I really appreciate all the comments, observations, and suggestions. I know allot more about braking and tires than I did a couple of days ago...and knowledge is a good thing.

Brad- Be sure to check that Pirelli deal...free front with the purchase on a rear! It's on till the end on March so you may want to buy a pair to have around when your stock tires are done. My rear only lasted 3000 miles!

I still haven't put my Diablos on yet...but then the only problem I noticed is a sensation of the front end washing out on tight slow speed turns on the 9r...no problems to speak of on the 12s <knocks on MAJOR wood>...

I got a set of the Pirelli Corsa's and a set of the Diablo's. I can only speak of the Corsa's at this moment and awaiting my follow-up class on how to tune the suspension to the rider.

I have been using the Aggressive Suspension settings posted here somewhere and have no complaints. I just think my suspension could be a little better so I can trust it.

The Corsa's are 1 step stickier and what I noticed is the rear was not as "twitchy" as the Dunlops. I believe the carcus is not quite as wide as the Dunlops 208's. ( had a puncture at about 2K miles and got a replacement of a 208J instead of a 208R) At about 5600 miles, the front 208 was badly cupped and vibration with braking occurred.

It was about then the Pirelli offer came about. Each dealer was offered 2 sets of Corsa's ( buy rear and get the front free) and I happened to luck into that deal in addition to ordering the Diablo's for the same deal.

I do about 21K/year and in about 4 months I'll throw on the Diablo's. Your reports should be in by then.

I just put the Diablo Corsa's on today, the front end is still apart pending the transfer of the street parts from the 9R front to the 12S front. I can say however, even with religious tire checks the front tire was cupped horribly. I hadn't noticed til I looked it over off the rim. BTW my local shop that people around here say are over priced, charged me less then $50 to change both tires off the bike.
