Well at least mine applies just call in your Vin# to see if your bike is affected. They are ordering the whole assembly today.

This is the first I am hearing on a 09, the headlight recall was for the older bikes. The 09 Bolts do have a recall for the front brake line.

The Federal Government is unaware of it as well.

Below are ALL 2009 recalls to the Buell XB line. Note that there are only TWO recalls and that they appear duplicated here because the same recall affected different models.

You can read the copy of the investigation, initial notification and response that Buell sent to the government if you'd like.

The earlier "PRD0501" is performing fabulously. After a year they're still sparkling silver.

BMC DOES do some remarkable things regarding recognition of defects.

Belts are considered wear parts?

...they were superceded by an improved part. I just gave my original '03 belt to a fellow BadWebber - it was still in great shape, and my replacement belt is still looking perfectly fine as well.

Treat them properly, and they more than outlast their indicated replacement life.

Speaking of headlights and service bulletins, I just noticed last night that when they put my new ones in the Firebolt the boneheads installed the low beam upside down! I normally ride with my high on at night, never noticed it until now, but the spoon is most definitely on the bottom. >.<

There was no basis for a recall. I'm not sure who this "everyone" is, nor the source of their omniscience, but the issue surrounding the belts proved but one thing for sure . . . if improperly handled or installed their service life will be shortened.

Of course, that was based on research not internet rumor so decide what works best for you.

Well after a day the dealer called back and made a mistake and cancelled the order for the headlights. I do need them adjusted because there is a dark spot on the ground from the low beam. When I put the high beams on the dark spot is real big. So something isnt right.

Well another turn of events after dealer inspected my bike with the brake line recall. I did mention the headlight issue and they did confirm to me something is not right with the lights. So this monday while they are ordering the recall parts for the brake line they are going to talk to tech support about my issue and hopefully will get them adjusted or fixed. It is very dangerous to ride at night with these lights the way they are no visibility at all.

Buell has decided to replace my headlight assembly. Just waiting for the parts to get to the dealer.
