I just attended a sales training in Vegas this week and Badweb got favorable mention from Andy Smith class instructor. He used it as an example of product support. I have to say that the XB12 with a race kit has to be a absolute riot on the street!! I rode XLs VRODS Buells and competitive bikes and I have to say I felt the smoothest on the track was a XB9R. I have a XB9S and I was more willing to push myself on the R. PS the new XL1200 Sportster Roadster it a VERY capable bike on the track. Believe it or not.

Compared to what? Previous Sportsters or a Honda Shadow?

Certainly not, compared to a Vtwin Buell.

I was on the track with a 750 Ace, Yamaha Warrior,VTX1800, VMAX, other sportsters and a bunch of V-RODS. The V-Rods were faster on the staightaway but I made up for it the very next turn.

The V-MAX kinda handles like a cement truck. So in the corners the VRod would most likely catch it.

Funny you should mention CEMENT. Two days and about 40-45 bikes the only one to lay down on the cement was the VMAX. Although it is pretty fast but it seems like the factory is still useing blueprints from 1985.It just felt old.

Mr Max has never been a handler. Better have that sucker pointed where you want it to go when you drop the hammer.

For the most part it was a class to get H-D salesmen (and women we have to be PC)tat dont ride Buells a chance to ride the product. First day of class was new Sportster and Vrod vs competitive bikes and day two (my favorite) was Buell vs competitve bikes. They had a 996 Superhawk, 900+1000 Ducatis, CBR600F4I, the Aprillia was broke and the parts were not to be found in the U.S.Yamaha FZ1, and XB9 and XB12's both S and R's some with race kits and some without. I've never been on a track before and I'll tell ya IM HOOKED. After each bike they wanted us to write down our impressions and as the day went on I was so high on adrenaline I could hardly read it myself. The guys from Freddie spencer Riding School are awesome. I would love to go through their sportbike racing classes, I learned so much in the 2 days of being there it felt like that first ride home on YOUR new bike. I still have permegrin

Jxb's story made me flashback a couple of years. Sounds a lot like DaveS. Hope the results in dealer enthusiasm are similar.
