Buy new. You may be able to pick some up used as long as they don't look like that. Your wheels are weakened at the damaged area as well as not holding the tire in place properly.

Both rims? Jesus, did you hit a railroad tie?

Personally, I'd get new ones.

They're fine. If they hold air, you are ok. You can get those straightened for about $100/wheel. Usually without having to repaint them. You could get them powerdcoated for not much more per wheel.

Those are minor dents. I wouldn't buy new ones.

Hell Froggy has more dents than that on one wheel.

You can't even see the dents on your rims!

Those happened like 4000 miles ago, (3 weeks?), and they haven't lost a pound of air. I will worry about it when I go to put fresh rubber on.

I knew as soon as I posted that, somebody would say not to worry about it. What are you going to do the next time you hit a pothole and instead of the wheel bending, your tire pops off the wheel? Any damage to the driveline of a two wheeler is dangerous.

Probably that would be the time to look at getting it fixed.

You should always replace both tires, that justifies both rim off. That will satisfy some of the posters, it sounds like it will be soon, and that will satisfy the other posters. Follow up on the repair link and that will make that poster happy. And you'll have peace of mind.

A win/win for everybody. You should have been a diplomat.

I go ahead and fix it while it's early in the season and get it over with so you can ride all summer without having to worry about it. I agree that if it's holding air it's probably ok but you don't want it to go out right in the middle of prime riding season.

...and that's my opinion from one Zach to another.

Zackxb12s Contact your local city Bureau of Street Services.I had a car that hit a pothole and got 2 brand new rims and tires well at least the money to get them.First go get pics of the pothole right now as they will usually repair the bad ones so they dont have to pay up.They are liable and will replace them with pics and proof like say a passenger on the bike.

I personally would not ride it like that.

you could just do what most people do go find a similarly bad pothole and say that was it.I mean if you hit one you hit one its not like your really lying.

If it was mine and it ACTUALLY got damaged from a pothole thats what I would do.

That's why honest people get stung. Somebody pulls a scam and honest people don't know the right steps to make their story right.

You can always remember the truth easier than lies. Try City Hall and see. The fact that they filled it in tells you that they know there was one there.

And if they don't, well, thank the scammers.
