I just bought an 03 XB. I'm new to the whole thing and the mirrors were removed cuz they shake so bad, they were pointless. Anyways, I want to put some stainless spikes in the holes on the fairing where the mirror mounts currently are. Does anyone know where to get something like that? Do I have to get them custom fabricated or is there something out there that might work? Any ideas are helpful at this point. Thanks!

Ugh.- SPIKES!
Not my cup of tea.
But if that floats your boat.

I doubt anyone sells them for a Buell.

I don't get spikes on bikes. Some people put them in the strangest places.

Perfect! The large Dragon claws should fit right on there. Thanks for the heads up Swordsman. The bike looks mean as hell with a custom bio-mechanical paint job. This should top it off. Not Purples bike looks painful! I like spikes, but Im not willing to risk my balls gettin sliced up for a certain spike placement. Unless thats a chick bike and those are "pleasure spikes". Nice suicide shift!
Andy, where you at in MN?

Not my bike.
It was at a local bike night at Hooters.
You're the one that bought that big bore XB9R in AZ!?
I am jealous...

I work all across the country for a construction company and I've been using my iPhone to post on here (I actually found the bike with my iPhone....should be a f'n comercial! Hahah)-I dropped my laptop running through the airport. Anyways, I've got a ton of pics and want to post them, but I can't with this thing....I shipped the bike back to MN using federal shipping. They are supposed to give me email updates along the way, but they didn't even let me know that it got picked up......sketchy to say the least!! I'm super pissed! And because it's the holiday weekend, no one is available. Very frustrating!! I get back to MN on the 29th and the bike is "supposed" to arrive on the 3rd. I'll post some pics then.

Jake-
I'm in Brooklyn Park- just a few minutes north of Minneapolis. You?

Will you need any help with the bike once it gets here? like with the shipper? I'm super busy right now, but let me know if you get in a bind.

I'm in Richfield- if by help, you mean kick the sh!t out of whoever is in charge over at Federal, then sure!! The more the merrier!!
I'll let you know what happens with it. I don't know if I'm being overly protective, but I picked Federal cuz they are supposed to be the best. HD, AMA, HOG, Ebay- they all endorse this company. The best customer service I've had so far was with Scot at Chandler HD (and he's not employed by Federal, but by Harley).
As of now, all I can do is hold my breath till Tuesday and "hope" that my bike is fine......
Andy, thanks for the backup....what are you riding?

I really don't think the mirrors are pointless. I use them all the time. I agree that they shake, but at least you can see a blur of a car.

Do they shake like a stock xb9 shakes? Or do they shake like there's 107hp at the wheel with 90ft of tq and nothin but 10" stepped headers for pipes?

stock mirrors shake to much. Just buy better ones. I broke down and got the CRGs and they work great. I use them more than I did my stockers.

If your mirrors are shaking get off of idle. Hell my mirrors are almost as clear as my car once up to speed.
