Well I saw a new ducati in a parking lot today and really like the look of the open clutch cover. I vaguely remember a firebolt on here with the same thing. Has anyone done it?

IIRC, somebody makes a belt-drive primary conversion for the XB which by necessity includes an open clutch. You might check with Trojan Horse or Hillbilly Motors.

It ain't an easy conversion. You'll need to alter the case to both seal up the pass through into the clutch side and you'll need to create a filler for the gear side.

More work than it's worth IMHO.

I just need to figure out how to attach electroluminescent blue wiring to the open primary belt, that way it will glow when running. : )

Brushes and slip-rings, or you could just glue a bunch of those self-illuminating valve stem caps to the primary belt...

I got a pair of those valve stem caps. They stopped working in about 2 days, not sure if I rode the crap out of them killing the batteries or if they drowned from the river crossings and flooded streets.

Those valve caps weigh ALOT more than plastic ones and will throw off your wheel balance thats not bad on a car but a bike.....

Did you balance the wheel with the valve caps on seeing as those lighted caps weigh around a quarter ounce. If not then the weight is off whether you notice it or not.

No, I didn't re balance it. I don't plan too. I got 2lbs of puncture proof tire liner in them, and then the wheels are dented and bent on top of that. I am sure as hell that they aren't balanced as much as they used to be. They don't shake at 130mph, so its good enough till I change out the tire again.

Ask Johnnylunchbox about the titanium squirel from a few weeks back. Perfect excuse to get the mag wheels. : )
