Without someone to enforce the law, you have no law.

I was going to try to post something thoughtful and intelligent, and even though I see good points on both sides of this conversation, I see a lot of poor communication resulting in elevated misunderstanding. What I am trying to say is...

Chill out guys... have an icy cold beverage and talk about something that may improve your mood, and smile.

Old_man I like you

But to say If a police dept. didn't exist they would have just shot you in the back and took everything that you had.
You should think a little further than the end of your nose.

Is a joke if there was no law I would of shot all three of them in their face being as they where obviously not supposed to be in my gated community and it was quite obvious from the looks of them they where up to no good.Problem solved 3 less thieves and scum removed from society and maybe when their friends see their closed caskets they may think twice also.If not thats why I carry 2 clips of 13 rounds.

Without police there would only be criminals and victims.

My point was that they tried to rob you.
That wouldn't be necessary, if there were no police.
They wouldn't even approach you, just shoot you in the back and kill you.
Then take what they want.

Even though the police are not present, that they exist helps to protect us.

You are calling for better policing not less.

How is this opposed to what I said?

AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!
Enough already. Some cops are a$$holes and some aren't. They are always gonna exist because there will always be a need for them. There is NOTHING to be said here that is gonna change any of that. It is what it is, either accept it or move to France. This thread started off funny...what a shame.

I'm not saying we don't need cops i'm saying we need better cops ones that do there job without abusing they're power and that do the job in its entirety not just handing tickets out to make money but actually catching or stopping criminals. They should worry a little less about seat belts and petty tickets/"ways to make more money"} and more about drug houses, drug cartels, illegal gun trades, pedo's,rapists, thieves looking to commit burglary or thefts....You know real crimes that hurt others.

reminds me of the time that a state trooper stopped me.

All he did was pass me on an expressway off-ramp, thats what he said in court.

When in reality he passed me, and seven other cars, with no emergency lights on, at night on a compound off-ramp (two exits off one ramp).

how did he stop me? he came so close to me (keep in mind I'M IN TRAFFIC, CARS BEHIND AND IN FRONT) that his right side mirror tears off via my clutch side handlebar. Throwing me into the median like a ragdoll, and kicking my bike across the wall into the other lane of oncoming traffic.

He didnt even throw any brake lights, hell, he prolly dumped the accelerator to get the eff outta their but luckly my buddy that was with me stopped and made sure I was breathing and chased him to get the car number.

After 7 months in court the jury of my peers decided that I was in the wrong for useing public roads under liscensed code on my part, and he was right for side swiping me and not stopping, while all the time not having any reason to be "emergency passing".

Now I cant help but love all law-enforcers of any kind, municipal or street level.

and dont tell me what to think either, I have been struck by 4 cars in my life, 2 on motorcycles, and 2 while a pedestrian. All were some form of law-enforcement that got out of charges.

Hard to be nice when the Dr. tells you that one of your legs is shorter now because of a ignorant miss-guided law offical eating a bowl of soup while driving.....

Cops jobs are too enforce laws set forth by our government. You don't like our laws? then move to another country, I'm sure they wouldn't mind having you. Do you really think cops enjoy the 10 pages of paperwork that each ticket entails? But that is their job, and unlike half of america that would just rather sit around and collect money on unemployment, they do they're job to make money. Cops get a bad rep because they make people pay for their crimes, well guess what? its the law. If there was no law we'd have absolute chaos and gunfights in the streets. So me? i'd rather have the cops, have to pay for my crimes when I get caught, and have a better chance of living in a safe community.

Pogue_mahone - Are you from the area? I am from the Rio Grande Valley and was in Nuevo Laredo not too long ago. Mexican soldiers are all over that city trying to contain the problem but it is impossible. About a month ago a bag with 12 heads was dumped in front of police headquarters with an attached note (Translated into English) "For every one of ours you kill, we will kill 10 of yours." 3 of those heads belonged to soldiers,} the others were police officers and city officials. The chief of police is a 23 year old and the last chief of police was chief of police for less then 3 days before being murdered. Cartels have access to more money then the government. They dont need approval to spend the money and they can throw bags of money at the problem. I bet there are more drugs in some small towns down here with a population of less then 5,000 then all of New York City at any given time. Local police is useless against cartels and to say congress can do something about the cartels is a joke.

Cartels have access to more money then the government.

And who sends them all this money...

America creates it's own problem by providing a market for these butchers. We have the power to turn it off completely- but are too weak to do it. You will always reap what you sow.
