I have followed the ECM Guide and I am trying to mega log to tune my bike. I am unfamiliar with Vista and can't find the data log files destination.

I know someone must have asked this before but I can't find the answer with a search.

I have a similar problem. They are in the "megalog" folder under Program Files > Ecmspy. I can load them into Megalog Viewer, but if I just go to view them in windows explorer, that folder isn't visible.

Found it. Go to Program Files > Ecmspy then on the top of there should be something called Compatibility Files. Chick that and they should be in the Megalog Folder.

On my Vista machine I can access my log files 2 different ways...

Start menu > Computer > Local disc ( C: ) > Program files > EcmSpy > megalog

Or

Open MegaLogViewer > File > Open > Look in > EcmSpy > megalog

ok i just purchased a vista so i can help.

you guys make this hobby expensive.lol

there is a tab to hit depending on which vista you have one opens the folders all up to view the other closes it. its named the same thing.

compatibility files needs to be open. this is from the start menu, my computer, program files, ecmspy. make sure on home its opened to compatibility files. then click the red X.

then when you go to your mail or look for the file you will see it there in the megalog folder.

only took 800.00 but i now know how to find things for the vista guys..

if anyone ever needs help you can link with a buddie to show you from his location to yours remotly. use myivo get it from myivo.com its free. register and you set. from myivo type in there emial address and it sends them a link. you then set it to give full control on your end. they now see your pc from there location. they can help tune fix a issue or anything. if you leave your pc on. and your on a different pc. visit myivo sign into your account. then it logs onto your pc. so its just like you was home or work.

i use this all the time for helping.

FYI

You cannot access the correct files with Yahoo Mail. (The "compatibility files" to be exact) If you try to send megalog files with yahoo mail it auto converts the file from a (.log) format to a (.txt) format and is unusable.

I don't know if all "hotmail" type (web-based) e-mail has this problem or not.

To send the file correctly I used Microsoft Outlook that resides on my PC to e-mail megalog files. I worked and did not incorrectly convert the files. I think the key may be to have the computer set up so the "send to...e-mail recipient" can be used with Outlook.

This seems to be the problem that I had. Thanks to all for the help and input. With a special thanks to Mike (xoptiinside.com) could not have done it without your help!!!!
