Yee haa! I picked up my cherry bomb city x from fremont harley today. Nice guys, and a totally sweet bike. Thanks BWB for all your tips!

First order of business is buying the old, higher skyline seat. Am very confused by the Buell website, though. The M0090.1AC is a skyline seat, stock on 04-'08 XB12S, and fits '09 XB9SX. The N0025.1AJYW is stock on the '07-'08 XB9SXs, but it does not say it fits the '09 XB9SXs.

I want the highest seat that will fit an '09 XB9SX. Any suggestions? And where can I buy it from? Buell.com seems not to sell seats.

And yes, by luck, cherry bomb matches the Cooper S.

You should put this in the RSX-XB12S thread - more matching cars and bikes in there. And both are very nice by the way!

You can buy the seat from any Buell/HD dealership.

I'll get the part number off the regular stocker when I get home, I'm pretty sure it's the first one you had listed.

And it will fit, I just bought that 09 textured low seat for my 07 city.

For some reason, I forgot that the X came in cherry. Your picture of it shows brighter colour than Buell's site. Looks sweet. Cherry Bomb, cool name.

My service was $373.18.

Thats for everything except engine oil, which would be about another $30+tax.

Thats with one bottle of Syn3 on the tab for the primary.

I am going with Royal Purple in the engine.

Looking forward to having a nice clean bike come Tuesday and seeing how she runs!

N0025.1AJYW is the taller seat. M0090.1AC is the lower seat(the one you have). the taller seat will fit on your bike no prob.

Wow Jraice, your dealer charges a lot. I was looking at my bike spreadsheet the other day and my 1k was $314, including oil. I would call around for pricing, because prices do vary a lot between dealers.

My dealer charges extra but if you saw their service shop you'd consider it worth it.

They are IMHO the best buell dealer in the Bay Area and its worth a few bucks.

Yeah, I guess to me, I would consider any service shop that doesn't leave a nic/scratch in my bike, worthy of a couple extra bucks.

Also having a very nice woman at the service counter helps.

Congrats on your new ride. I've also got a City-X (for 4 years now) and it's more fun than any other motorcycle I have ever had.

I think you'll love it!

Ramm: Cooper S is a 2003 I think. We got one the year it came out (lucky timing -- the jeep died, illinois had no wait list, and i've wanted one forever).

Our other ride is a WRX wagon -- best family car I've found.

btw. first impressions on the XB9SX: I love it. Esp. after my CB750, *this* is what a motorcycle should sound like. I know folks here like to change the exhaust, but I think it sounds awesome stock.

Rear brakes seem weak, but maybe this is because I'm not use to the ergos yet, and the seat is low so maybe I cannot get the leverage I need. Front brake is fine.

It's also *so easy to ride*. I feel as if I've gone up skill level.

Suspension is too firm. Tried adjusting rear shock with the tool, but it did not seem to turn easily and I didn't want to mess anything up. Will gather courage and try again. Is there a trick?

Also, glue that binds the pages in the users manual melts in hot sun &*%%&

Please buy this taller seat from the classifieds:

And then sell me yours at a great deal because I was so helpful ; )

Aaah. Things are clear now. '09 9SXs come with M0090.1AC seat, which is *not* high (is scooped out). Why they call this a skyline seat, I don't know.

N0025.1AJYW is what was on the old 9SXs (and listed in the catalog).

Chippy's M0090.1AJ is what was on old 9SXs and is *not listed* in the '09 catalog.

Phew -- glad they cleared that up! M0090.1AJ and N0025.1AJYW may or may not be the same!

Joel9: My bike came with the M0090.1AC (not high).

N0025.1AJYW was the old City X seat (according to the catalog).
M0090.1AJ is the old City X seat Chippy has.

Is M0090.1AJ higher than N0025.1AJYW? What's the difference between these two seats?
