The lease on my new apartment makes specific mention of no motorcycles being allowed inside the apartment buildings, so I'll be installing my Drummer outside this weekend. I hope the neighbors don't mind my mandatory I-gotta-fire-it-up-while-the-muffler-is-off-cause-it-sounds-awesome-with-an-open -header ritual.

Bubba, the XB9 muffler shipped out to you today.

i own my own home so the only problem i see is my wife taking certain priveledges away from me. as for the drummer, my local dealer (wausau harley/buell) and the two employees that i talk to an a regular basis were EXTREMELY impressed with what i showed them.

the new president of our local brag is going to try to talk the owner into a drummer for their demo bike provided i get my ass down there first nice day so they can see/hear it installed.

i felt like a salesman today, pretty cool to have a dealership interested in what i had and not the other way around.

I'm gonna get one.
Know anyone that wants to buy a slightly used Buell Race can?
I think I've got Mike talked into giving me his stock muffler.
Or, ya wanna work out a trade?

Buckinbubba

I have a question for you. I took the bike to the dealership to get the TPS reset on Monday (we got a break from the snow...36 degrees). The service technician (also a Firebolt owner) and I were talking about the Drummer.

After the TPS was set he reached up into the air intake scoop and asked if I was supposed to remove the rubber boot. He said that on the factory race kit the instructions said to remove this boot as it restricts air flow. Am I supposed to remove this rubber boot? I don't recall this on previous posts, but I could have missed it.

I'm getting confused with all these do's and donts and fit this and fit that.

I have a Race Kit fitted to my 9r with a 12S airbox cover.

Now if I remove the race exhaust and fit one of these Drummers........

What am I gonna gain???
(POWER WISE), because noise wise I'm happy with the race kit.

ok I'll answer this all

Buffalobolt- what fullpower said , yes remove the snorkel. sometimes I assume and we know where that gets me.

Ebriggs- email me at buckinfubba@hotmail.com

xb9srider- yes its louder than the race kit but the tone is a much deeper tone, more like a low rumble. hence the name, it sounds like a tom tom drum not a snare drum.

steviejay- from 2.5k to 4 its about a 7 to 8 ft/lb and about 5 hp better for the drummer. from 4.2 k to 5.2k the race pipe is better by about 1 or 2
and from 5.2 to 7.5k the drummer is better by about 4 or 5 hp. infact with further time and testing we have found that when the pipe gets worked in better it is producing better. which is what my partner told me it would do but I didn't believe him. well now the one on the test bike (my poor beat up bolt) it has gone from 80 at the wheel to 83 hp at the wheel.

drummer, 04 mirrors, 04 stickers, 04 airbox cover, 1200 airbox seal, all installed. now, someone make the snow go away.

impressions of the drummer, looks great on, and the sound is better than my souped up sporty ever had.

heck, sounds better than my dual exhaust on my pickup even.
