Melted the nubs down with...? What type of tape did you use? I think Ill do that, seems like it would make the process much quicker and easier to fine tune the placement off parts. |

I melted the nubs down with a soldering iron. I used duct tape. |

Sounds easy enough. I have the soldering iron, probably have duct tape but will pick some up if I need to and just need to grab hair spray for the grips! If the parts come by Thursday Ill do them then... Otherwise I might just get one last ride in Thursday and then tear it all down Thursday evening, remove all the parts, the stock bars, melt the nubs. That should make the bar install pretty quick and then I can go for a quick ride Sunday morning (mothers day so nothing crazy) in the twisties to see how they feel and then take the bike in for service. Will be a lot of fun to ride after I get the bike back! New bars, synthetic oil, nice clean bike (I keep riding insteading of washing, the shop is going to wash the bike after the service). |

I didn't melt the nubs all the way down. I melted them enough that I could bolt the switchgear on. I left just a little bit to "bite" into the tape. Never had any problems. |

One more question, on the Precision Engineering parts and any other bolts that are actually holding the bars on. Hand tight with a wrench and blue loctite or did you use a torque spec? |

If your kit is like mine, I used the stock bolts to bolt the lower portion of the clamps onto the top triple tree. The kit then contained the bolts to clamp the top of the clamp to the bottom riser. I didn't get too anal about it. Use the German specs. Gutundteit! |

Sweet! I went with the slim line unit so its most likely the same thing, just each side is independent from the other. |

Hey Jraice... Can you post some pics? I think bars are going to be my next mod on my Ss. Would like to see how yours turned out. And some feed back on how you like them. Thanks! |
