Hey all, probably a dumb question...I just bought an 05 XB9R...noticed most pics have a black exhaust can...is that stock? Mine is not black it is just plain steel I guess you would call it? Sorry I am new to bikes. | ||

Yep, all the aftermarket pipes are louder than stock. | ||

Just been looking on youtube and you are right it is the race pipe and it sounds better I think...video sound kinda sucks. | ||

If you ever hear the stock next to yours, you won't ask again about the sound of the race exhaust. Some are louder but the factory race pipe is (to my ear) sweeter. Besides, while it gives you a little more "poop" it's not so loud that your buddies ask you to always lead so YOU get all the police attention! Follow an XB on a Force or D&D - THEY will be ticketed. | ||

HAHA thanks Slaughter....I haven't even been able to hear mine yet...I am in Hawaii waiting on a medical discharge from the Army and bought my bike as a gift to myself lol...I cannot wait to get home and ride it..weather is finally getting warmer in WI, now if only the people here would hurry up with my paperwork!! | ||

Tolloyd519, Make sure you take an MSF / Rider's Edge course. More GI's are killed on motorcycles than in combat the past few years. | ||
