It's not the first time I have gotten needed information to do some work on my bike from this forum but I just wanted to say thanks to the people who post the questions and answers the helped me take care of a needed spark plug change and breather re-route. The work, especially the spark plug change would have been a much bigger beast without the info here on Badweb.

+ 10,000

from my current perspective, and having done repairs based on a combination of common sense, "the knack", and BadWeb advice, i wonder why i EVER even called the dealership(s)...

this forum is the best, thanks in entirety to the participants.

+1

The people on here are outta this world when it comes to helping out. I owe them much of my positive Buell experiences. I haven't seen such a dedicated community base before, well maybe the Ford Focus community but Badweb is just plain badass.

buell techs work area with this place as the home page and techs signing up and dropping in to say hi.
i was lucky even tho i posted up,i just applied general automotive knowledge and fixed it myself.
this is a great board!

So...about that fix...seems while "fixing" the plugs issue revealed a electrical issue because the bike went back to one cylinder during an up shift on the highway, the symptom I thought was caused by a fouled plug...and they where pretty nasty but it looks like the cause might have been electrical (though it ran better than it has in a while after changing the sparks, so not a waste of time on that one)...I'm thinking it is a loose spark plug boot or bad wire or something so I am going to pop the air box again and check the wires again, and the spark plugs too, make sure they are still seated tight.

Either way, I would have never gotten this far on fixing it without Badweb so the OP still applies...though I do have this suggestion for Buell...you have centralization, handling, simplicity, "badassness", etc down...can you work on making servicing them easier. I'm not saying these bikes are hard to work on mind you but how about not putting the spark plugs in tiny child's hand sized flesh scraping maws of pain?
