Matt I've seen one fitted to an S1W. It didn't look bad at all. I can't speak of the XB's in this instance though but I'd imagine anyone doing a hydraulic kit will closely follow the lines of the existing XL types.

If I'm not mistaken a slave cylinder similar to the design used in Saab cars is bolted to the primary using the derby cover access as its mounting point from where upon it can act on the clutch pressure plate itself.

A handlebar mounted master cylinder and hydraulic pipe are needed but you already knew that didn't ya.

Here in the UK,Matt @ Trojan Horse sells hydraulic clutch kits for XB's,made by Racing motor (www.trojan-horse.co.uk) Only thing the $ to £ ratio is works out at $874 dollars!!! + shipping which even in GBP is £475.00 +.

Their's a guy on our UK Buell website with a 12s who has just fitted a Muller power clutch, which has made the clutch action lighter,he swears by it, priced at $257.00 + shipping.

There is also another hydraulic kit that we can supply for the XB's (or any other Buell come to that), that can work out cheaper, as it uses the master cylinder from a Kawasaki ZXR750 that you could source at a breakers if necessary.
Price for just the slave cylinder and hydraulic line etc would be £292 or approx US$520.

The Muller Power Clutch is definitely the cheapest and one of the best available, especially at the price.

I would like to know why anyone would need a hyd clutch on an XB - granted I have never tried the clutch on a 12.

After getting my XB9S , I thought the clutch action and weight was great ,I was looking for problems as the tester in Cycle World said it was too heavy..I put this down to them spending more time typing than riding and also living in Kalifornia of course.

IS THE MULLER POWER CLUTCH JUST AN EXTENDED CLUTCH RELEASE ARM? IF SO IT SHOULDN'T COST THAT MUCH. WHITE BROS MAKES A SIMILAR PIECE FOR BIG TWIN H-D THAT COSTS ABOUT $35.00

Thanks Udo - a fun read ; )

seems like they're compensating for the slightly longer throw by running the adjustment specs a bit tighter.

Cool.

JohnnyXB9, where did you see that white bros product??? Wonder if it would fit an XB??? If it's a longer release arm it should make the lever action a bit lighter, right???

In Drag Specialties and Custom Chrome. But they only make it for big twins and pre 94 Sportster.I have asked our head service tech and he is not sure if there is enough clearance inside the primary case.

one nice thing about a cable actuated clutch is that it does not leak. sometimes simple stuff works well.

Harley products prefer to be in neutral when not moving. Holding the clutch at long lights is not a good idea. Just my experience over many years.
