Do the wires "snap" into place on the coil like they do the plug? Or does it more or less just slide on without actually clicking into place?

Particularly when removing the stock plug wires, but also when installing them, it is much easier to slide back the boot so that you may grip directly on the metal, and so that you can see if the plug is connected or disconnected correctly. I no longer use the stock wires, I like the aftermarket set I bought from Iron Machine, but you must handle the stock ones with care or you will pull the snap connector away from the conductor.

I'm talking about going on to the coil? Do they snap on there too?

They don't snap into the coil, they just slide in.

+1 just make sure you go slow slow you don't trap air and it will push the wire back off sometimes. also make sure you use a little grease on each end of the plug wire to stop water from getting under in down pours I have had this happen and seen it happen several times

It's your money, but there isn't any power to be gained on a stock bike with aftermarket wires and you can't see'em on an XB, so why bother?

Al has the stock wires for something like 11, ea
