Just want to know some of the comments that you guys hear from other people about your bike. I just got my bike over Thanksgiving and I rode it only 2 days then it was winter. The first day I drove it the guy at the gas station said "What a sharp looking bike! I never have seen a rotor that big...very unique." Just yesterday I had my bike serviced up at the dealership and the mechanic said "what did you do to your bike? It runs amazing" Another guy at the gas station said "Man I love that see through tank, did you make that yourself?" So what are some of yours??? I cant wait to ride it this summer! |

Sorry for the immediate hijack, but wouldn't a couple of plastic goldfish under the see-through be good for questions from the fans? |

I've received random comments here and there. The most memorable...Stopped at a gas station and a good ol boy is pumping gas at the next pump over. He asks, "That's one of them Buellcatis right?" My reply..."Yup!" |

yeah, i get mostly good comments too. negative ones are usually dumb: -why is it so small? -where's the tail? -i've never seen a ducati look like that? -where's the other cylinder? i think when i get back from korea, i'm going to go a little crazy with the paint color...not sure on the scheme but it'll be memorable. |

I have received a few. When a friend saw it for the first time he said "I wish I would have bought that, instead of my R6." The best was at an intersection. I pulled up next to a pimped out Chevy Caprice rolling on 24's. The Passenger yelled "What kind of bike is that?" "A Buell" I responded. "What is a Buell?" "An American made sport bike." "That's Bad A$$ as a Mother F_____!" (Message edited by XBGeorge on April 03, 2009) |

Usually, the first thing people notice is the sound. People love the rumble. A guy on an R1 that I chased down in the twisties came up to me at a rest stop. He heard my bike as I was shutting her down and asked me how much money I had put in the motor to run him down and get that sound. I told him that It was a K&N filter and a pipe done by a buy named Odie back East. The rotor is a looker too. A lot of, "That's huge!" I've also gotten, "Oh, that must be a 500 or something because it's so small." Then I start her up and they're quite surprised. I leave them to thinkin'. A lot of people like the "non-cookie-cutter"-ness of the bike. A lot love that it is American made. I've gotten a few, "Is that the new Ducati?" Take it or leave it, but it usually because those that ask like Ducatis. Then you explain about the fuel in frame, oil in swingarm and I get a few more oohs and aaahs. Gotta love it! |

The best comments are the ones that need not be said. No matter if I ride with Harleys, or rice, the Buell is the bike that gets the most attention. That speaks volumes in itself. Here is an example. I was at a chopper/cruiser type bike show. As I was exiting the show walking through a parking lot full of hundreds of very nice bikes, I notice a bunch of guys are standing around my bike. We talked a little about it and when I fired it up you could see the unexpected shock in their eyes. (latus pipe) I acted humble like I didnt notice the drule but inside I was beaming. |

When I had my '05 City-X, I rode a lot with a friend of mine that had a 425hp Boss Hoss. Everywhere we would go people would swarm to that giant chrome beast. I would tell people the spiel of the Hoss whenever my buddy would be off to the restroom or whatever. I got to laugh my butt off a few times at his expense. He would step up to start telling a group of tourists walking up to where the bikes were parked, about his bike, and they would walk around it to ask me about my Hero Blue City-X! Always great fun when they would ask to take pictures of my bike and ignore his! |

My best comment was a man explaining to his wife how sexy my buell was and how it was like the Ferrari of motorcycles... Pretty sure when you say Ferrari and Motorcycles in the same sentence the average person will think Ducati, I like Ducati's so I liked that comment . |

Best one was from a guy on a brand new $20K BMW bike. "damn that is a sexy bike" a few days earlier had a man and woman at a stop light hanging out their window "That is just a sexy bike, i love the rims" Of course people always freak out about the Rotor and comment me about my See thru gas tank haha. |

I was outside a restaurant talking to a guy with a beautifully customised cruiser. When a young lady leaving the restaurant walked by us. She gave my Buell a long look and said that's a great looking bike. Didn't even look at the cruiser. He was astonished. She must have known motorcycles. |

I usually get the "what is that, a 600?" comment, but then when i reveal the 1203 they just say "how do they get that in there?"....got to love these bikes for the shock and awh from people. Just the other day a older couple stop gets out of their car at Best Buy and the lady says "thats a nice looking bike" and the gentleman says "Buell? Never heard of them, but keep the rubber side down, and the shiny side up" |

Speaking about the headlight comments above, I have a little game I play when someone says "hey, you have a headlight out". I switch to low beam for a few seconds, two taps on the passing light switch will fire up the aux lights then switch back to high beam. They usually look very confused. Then I rock the high / low switch to the center to light both high and low. Right about then their brain explodes and I ride off. |

Once I crossed the Courtney Campbell Causeway (11 miles of straight away with water on either side) next to a guy on a big Yamaha Royal Star Venture. We made it to the traffic light on the east end and stopped next to each other. He looked at my little Blast and instead of sneering, his only comment was that the Blast was the best bike to ever come out Wisconsin. |
