Finally took some pics. I hate the fitment of the select seat. Can I adjust the rails up, maybe shim them? It looks like if they were tipped up/fwd it would drop right in. Thoughts?

Lowes. It's an in line filter for compressed air lines. I removed the element, installed an autozone breather filter and mounted it.

breather filter $18 (it's metal not paper), catch can (lowes air filter) $13, hoses $7, misc clamps and zip ties $3.

DIY priceless!

Sweet ride! They make spacers for the seat that move it at a pretty extreme angle but you may be able to make your own shims to fix the seat angle.

Also another side note, go to your harley dealer they should stock some plastic plugs that pop right into your old mirror threads. Look like little rivets. Cleans up the bar.

Ramm, the bars are generic from ebay. there are tons. Just need to research measurements. The ebay listing was Black Cafe Racer Ace Clubman bars kz cb xs 650 750 900þ
From: eBay Member: sportingforless.

The riser and top clamp are from Precision Engineering, awesome sponsor here. Just add new grips. I did heated while I was at it and a couple hours in the garage and there you go.

lookin' good!

you could raise the tail a bit, i'm a fan of the jacked tails of course, but the Select tends to wrinkle if the angle is too much.

you could also use a heat gun (low setting) to warm the seat pan and bend it as desired. might be a cheap way to fix the gap.

Something is wrong with the fitment of the seat. Select seats do not normally fit that way. Take a look at my profile pic and see how they normally fit- this is a natural, normal fit that required no modification.

I think that they even use the same seat pan as the standard seat. I would take a close look at the front hooks- I think you have it mounted wrong.

I just got one as well. You just have to twist really hard. The plastoc cup seals very tightly. Unfortunately they only had them in blue, so I will have to paint it black later.

Blacklightning what is that clamp you used and where can I get one?

Yea, I finnally got the blasted thing off. Took alot of twisting on it to get it to budge! The one I got is blue as well. Need to replace the quick release drain. It needs to be pressurized to keep it closed =\.

My bad guys, I forgot the part where I tapped the bottom hole in the plastic reservoir to 1/4" tapered pipe thread and added a petcock from the same shelf in the compressed air section.

Dong, Its an adel clamp. I got it from work.

I got some stuff at Lowes and some from Home Depot. The depot has the black one.

Dong is right, they are just on tight. I ruined the first one with pliers. I crushed it, it was in so tight. Good thing the don't ask many questions at the returns counter.

Sweet set up. I ran the same type of catch can but destroyed in a "mishap". I was looking at this on ebay. Wondering if it would fit anywhere.

I saw that Firebolt32. The same ebay store has it vertical. I just needed black, (it's faster, you know.)

My bike is white with orange Buell tags so I thought it look pretty cool. I'm just not sure if it will fit where you have your set up now.

I love when every one posts pics of their bikes. You could put 200 Buells in a row. They all look the same but they don't, you know?

"Something is wrong with the fitment of the seat."

I agree with Andy on this one. I had some issues with my Select seat "flairing out" at the upper edges by the airbox cover. I took it back and got a new one. Mine (see profile) looked like Andy's.

both my Select seats looked like that near the outer airbox cover.

i dont think those seats were the best quality for a while, not sure how they are now. my cover pulled away in the 'V' just like a few others. even after replacement, still looked the same up by the 'tank'.

EDIT: i just looked again, gap wasnt quite as much but the fitment always kinda bugged me. super comfy seat though!

You should be able to get the adel clamp from a hardware store as well.

My catchcan is almost ready. Just need to get some hose, and route it all. Also need to get a different drain for it.

I decided to not do it this way. That thing was too heavy and bulky for my liking. I am going to go with it vented to atmosphere with a breather filter. Cheaper and barley any weight added.

I have the same problem with my seat, though it is just the stock seat that came on the bike. It fit fine originally, but then I put in a different tailpiece and now there's space at the back and it kind sits high in the front.

Can anyone with the spacers tell me/us how the stock seat fits after installing the spacers? Is it a pain to get on? Also, by how much does it raise the seat height?
