Does anybody have a clutch boot that they could sell me. Mine got burnt up a bit on the header after the clutch retainer wireform broke. I brought it in to get replaced, but they never replaced the boot just the wireform (didn't notice this until I got home). I rather just replace it myself, instead of waiting at the dealer...

I did call the dealer to order one, but they said you would have to order an entire clutch kit, the cable and what not. That just sounds ridiculous...

Boney isn't your bike still under warranty? My clutch cable got burnt from that wire form thingy so they replaced it for free. Maybe you could make them order the parts and just let you put them on if you don't want them to. Just a thought.

Yeah it's still under warranty. When I brought it in I told them to replace it, but they never did. I very much doubt that they would order the boot/whole kit and just give it to me? I'll call and ask tomorrow. I just don't feel like dropping my bike off at the dealer for them just to replace the boot. It could take them a couple of days to get to it, while I could just do it myself.

Yea, Ive never heard of a dealership ordering a warranty part and giving it to the customer. Im not saying it hasn't, or couldn't happen, but I think they have to have a service ticket to get paid by Harley. But im not 100% positive

Yes they do, that's why they don't.

There are a host of reasons the dealer should not give a customer warranty parts.

They range from funny to legal.

If a customer installs a "warranty part" . . . in addition, they have just voided the remaining warranty.

As a customer, I would not accept a warranty part.
