who cares what they think about it...
I ride every day that there isnt snow or ice... I am always amazed that people tell me what I should be riding when theirs is still at home in their garage (if they have one at all)
Yeah, its only 984, try and keep up, it gets a bit dirty around that last curve

Light, fast and agile. Or, heavy, slow and clumsy. Mouthy morons. Same guys probably own an SUV that is washed every weekend even though it’s never seen a dirt road. Same guys probably couldn’t change a spark plug. Don’t get pissed, just pass em. While your at it, pass the rice bikers who put it up on one wheel and then slow to 15 mph to take a 5 degree corner. All through life there are those who believe in substance and those who believe in hype. Just pass em.

"ppl sure talk a lot of crap i swear!!
"

Yeah, When I bought my Buell 3/4 of the HD guys in the shop started giving me all kinds of isht...The 4th (whom built both his bikes in his garage) heard all the commotion and came over to tell them to "grow a pair" and "take one for a ride and try to keep 2 wheels on the ground". Said he rode one and couldn't keep from doing 'stopies' (he's 55 and has no interest in stunting).

They haven't said anything harsh since...

Tell them you'd choose their choice in wardrobe, but didn't want to look like you're going to a Village People reunion.

When you've got young women soldiers being KIA, there's no response to jerks who figure associating men with women's activities is an insult.

Don't waste your breath, don't let them steal your joy, go for a ride.

Ask them if they sell mens bikes at the place where they bought theirs.

Then ask them if all cruisers come in size Husky or if they have other sizes.

While were talking about 1200 sportys, i worked at HD ATL for a while, and all the guys that came in would of course asked me what i ride, Id say a buell and a 1200 sporty. Well right off the bat they would assume to make fun of both of them, Little did they know, my sporty is jockey shift, foot clutch, No front brake, And ape hangers that are even with my chin. Needless to say, they were to scared to even get on it and try and ride it around the parking lot. The girlie comments didnt last long.

they sound like a bunch of dorks. Why is it that I see way more girls on roadkings and soft tails than i do on sportsters? They are all good bikes. Why would i want a road king, if i like to ride the twistys?

A guy in my office tried to start BSing me about the bike one day because he saw me pull into the parking garage behind him. Telling me it looks like a toy and I'm too tall for it, etc.

I quashed that attempt at ragging on the Buell by pointing out that he was driving a miata.

The HD dealer keeps sending me reminders to come up to their bike night... no thanks, I have no desire to hang around with that crowd. Don't own any leather, don't have any stretched out tatoos, don't have a fat GF for the back, only own a full face helmet.

Both my dad and my grandpa ride Harley's, and when i was home last year on leave the kept revving their engines and when i revved mine, it sounds like a gay fart (stock pipe) compared to their bikes. They kept giving me shit until i made my grandpa ride it for 30 miles, now he is scared to death of the bike,"that is uncomfortable as hell, and WAY too much power, you got balls for riding that thing." Same with my dad, although he already knew the power of the bike while i was overseas, scared him to death.

I don't really have any jerks at work...several guys have told me that if I move up, they want to buy my Blast....but anyways, a young guy that works here recently bought a CBR600...he didn't really have a clue how to ride it, so I took him out for some instruction...so we went for a ride and I showed him some pointers...especially effective braking...after the "class" he wanted to go to a "bike night" thing across town...I figured WTF so off we went...

When we got there, there was every manner, type and ilk of bike and rider you could imagine...it was there that I caught some flak about my bike...couple of squids trash talkin' my Be-Last...it just so happens that there is a very worthy road with some twisties in it that goes right past where we were that has a watering hole at the end...I told them if they beat me there I would buy the drinks...at the watering hole as I relaxed with a nice cold iced tea...the squids were taking a close look at my bike trying to figure out how I beat them there....

I told em "buy a Buell, own the corners"....but in all truthfulness...they didn't have a clue what to do with a corner, so it really wasn't fair..but it was FUN!

Hell theres only a few riders I work with, one owns a 06CityX, another rides a Supermoto, the others are Harley riders. No one gives anybody any crap here.

I was at a weekend event last summer, HD crowd, my 12R was the only sportbike to draw any positive attention from that crowd, and no negative attention. Let the ones that rag on ya stroke their egos, cause with what they ride, its probably the only thing getting stroked.....

I just LOVE this post. A friend of mine was visiting from out of town a while back. I rode my very nicely hopped up, chromed and cool looking Wide Glide and he rode my Lighting. Every place we stopped, the folks were checking out the Buell and asking about it.

I got such a kick out of that!
