The Blue Lightning on the taylor-made site was just in a UK rag a few issues ago. There was 2 bikes made across the pond by some pretty cool blokes if memory recalls. The other was Red. Both ran the 240mm rear tyre with the belt drive. Pete also make's a sweet product trust me! (even though my post count is low)

8" goes center with 11mm offsetpulley & belt.

The Hellbender have 9" and 1/2" offset of the wheel. Nothing you will ever notice.

thanks buddy...

for Jens:

hi, we don't know eachother, but I'm a good friend of Angelo Nicolini, the italian guy who owns nakedstore.it, you guys used to work together.
I was told from him that you 240 kit needed the widening of the swingarm in order to fit your bigger wheel. is that wrong?
I guess he also got in touch with you for me when I was building my Ghost Ride, I needed some advices but I never got back to you...

Hi,

you are absolute right, the first swingarm need to have for that major changes on the inside (left-front). I cut off a piece into the oiltank area and welder it. Its a real job. On the later swingarm its easier, but to be honest I dont like that swingarm (-:

Just released that new project, there are the primaryside skulldesign servicecovers mounted, who are missing on your bike.

@Dana, HI! Yes sorry but I was very busy with that new project, Tough times..... (-:

Hello to all BwB´ers!

so I was right!!!
some fellows here said that the 240 tires you have on your Hellbender could fit in the stock swingarm, when I was told from Angelo that you had to widen it. I know Angelo from long time and he's one of the major Buell experts in the world, I know he didn't lie to me.
thanks for your clarification.
BTW, where can I see those primary service covers? I'm interested...

so I was right!!!

Edoardo,

Yes you are right if you use the 9 inch wheel like the Hellbender with the 1/2 ich offset pulley. If you use the 8 inch wheel you don't have to mod the swingarm because the wheel is one inch narrower and it gets a 11mm offset pully. Theres two ways to do this and run the belt. I've spoke to Jens and did the math. A friend of mine that fabricates was going to do my spacers and shim's. Like I said I just haven't pulled the trigger on doing it.
Reread my post regarding the 8 inch wheel. I didn't disagree with you about the Hellbender. I'm saying you can run a belt and run a 240.

let me ask you something: have you ever seen a 240 tire even on a 8" wheel on an XB?
I'm gonna shoot some pics for you and post it here, to let you see how much space I have between the tire and the chain, and between the chain and the internal part of the right footpeg plate. no more than a quarter of inch for each side.
if you gonna make the pulley work off set, you gotta have the rear wheel working off set as well, which I strongly believe you don't want on your bike.

Edoardo,
Thats where the shim's come in in which Jens sales and I have personally spoke to him about. Off set pulley.... offset rearset, offset pulley tensioner, offset master cylinder. Trust me it can be done. Its not a argument. I did this research 4 years ago. Not sure its for me. I actually like Petes kit a bit better for its simplicity over making the belt kit.

And yes I have seen Petes kit or the one on your bike. Pete brought one here on a 12 during homecoming.

well, I'm for simplicity and well done parts, made especially for a certain bike.
you might think I'm crazy seen my bike, but everything on the Ghost Ride, is made for the XB, beside some few parts with universal fitment.
when you're going to change, weld, cut, adjust, grind etc, you sure know better than me, that the result will never be 100% satisfaction!

To be honest I'm thing single sided swingarm. I've seen only one done. My buddy has looked at my bike countless times. He say's he can do it. Not gonna be cheap even though hes a long time friend. This is his latest.

Eduardo and Dana, so you are both right, take a beer (-:

By the way, I think (but not have done it)that the 240 on the 9" wheel(not centered) with beltdrive may fit in the newer swingarm without opening the oiltank.

I like the single side swingarm, but to be honest with you, I still think that the XB stock swingarm is still the best looking one for that bike. it's mean, short, small and fat, perfect for a muscle bike like the XB.
sometimes I think that the best looking stuff is the stock one, so I think that the swingarm and the frame are master pieces, I would never change it!

I agree about the stock swingarm. I like the old style a bit better. If I do it.. it would have to be executed just right or it may look terrible.

Bads1 can sign me up for one of those bikes -- seriously good looking, what the Nightster should have looked like IMO.

Then again nobody is talking about your bike. Best not to say anything if you have nothing good to say. The bike is suppose to be wide... fat... low. That bike has caught lots of interest world wide from custom builders.

Geez so much tension in this board from you Bads1, he was just stating his opinion and I believe he is entitled to do so. When everyone said the bike looked good that was their opinion and you did not blast them in the face for it, so I am guessing good criticism/opinions are allowed? Let me know if my views are off the mark here, if you do not want opinions both good and bad then don't post the pictures it is as simple as that.

Sorrrrrry!!!! I don't go around and blast or give opinions on anyones bike here...... should I??? However I do say when I like something. Its called polite. I didn't ask for opinions. But everyone has one. Its not my bike but rather a friends to sell. On another note theres better ways to say how you don't care for something.... am I right ???

Very truu there are other ways to express opinions, I was just pointing out that you were recpetive to the praise but set against criticism.

Personnally I like the bike, the front tire is a little fat for me but once again just my opinion. I did find a way to say it with a little bit more tact than FASTXB12R, but that may just be his personality.

Anyhow I will get off of my .

Just one more question for ya, did you end up going with two differant colored wheels?
Been following you build for a while and love the bike.

Sorry to be so blunt but thats just how I am as many people are and yes many people have said they dont like my bike BUT idfc it my bike just like its your friends bike to do whatever you want to it.

I do think the bike looks very nice I have just never liked the fat front tire thing.Alot of people are building the bikes like that now so it cant be all that bad just not my style.

Bishopjb1124 thank you for your post this is a forum and everyone is entitled to their opinion.I do come off as a bit of a jerk but I have always figured it is better to be honest if everyone said what they felt their would be alot more truth in this world but unfortunately their would be alot more fights.

I was always told

Opinions are like @$$holes everyone has one and they all stink.
