Note: The original post is stuck in the archives, thus a new thread. Got the bike back about a week ago and here's the deal. I still have the stumble off idle and I'll have to see if the mpg issue was fixed. Just filled her up (it's been rather chilly here in WI lately). And its supposed to snow tomorrow 4-8"! BS!!! But the only thing the did was the reflash. So I'm guessing there is no fix to this problem, unless somebody comes out with a working tuner. Its all good in my book, I still have a bad azz bike! But I did notice, maybe its just me, but the bike has more power now. Just the other day I was out and I let her rip. I was at about 35 hundred rpm and crack the throttle wide open and she pulled me straight back in the seat and continued to do so until I got off the throttle at about 6.5k. And when I say threw me back I mean that, my damn arms went completely extended, making my right hand lock on the throttle as if I couldn't let go or release/let off the throttle. She just completely threw me back like I was on a rocket that hit its afterburners. Prior to the reflash I never experienced this kind of pull on the bike. So I got something out of it. Like I said before the stumble of idle does not really bother me, I can work around that, and as with the sh!ty mpg, I don't really care, that isn't the reason why I bought the bike. We'll see if the mpg gets better, if not maybe I'll take it back? Its just a pain in the azz for me to bring it in and drop it off, then pick it up (I don't have a trailer yet). Plus I hate having my bike out of my hands. We'll see. All is GOOD! |

For what its worth, I spent about 2 weeks with a 09 X, and experienced no issues with the fuel mapping. In fact it was way better than my 06. Fuel economy only a hair lower than my 06, but the motor had only a few hundred miles on it and wasn't broken in. Now I know that dosen't really help, but if the issues you are having are related to mapping, they have been resolved. |

I hate having my bike out of my hands. But, being in the hands of Danny or Dean at Hals is as good as it gets. There is no one I trust more with my bikes. Try raising you idle to 1150-1200 RPM. } |

It's not that I don't trust them...I trust my brother to look after my dog, but I wonder at times... I suppose, the next day of decent weather comes by I'll drop it off again. Hopefully i can get Danny or Dean to come out of the shop and then show them personally the stumble. Which I'm sure they know about already. But then why would they return the bike with it displaying the same symptoms as when I brought it in? The problem wasn't fixed? Just so I'm clear on this, the stumble that I talk about happens when the bike is at idle (1100) or just above and when the throttle is cracked it bogs and misses. I then have to let off the gas at ease on the throttle. The only time this stumble occurs is when I'm blipping the throttle, the stumble does in no way interfere with the ride ability of the bike, normal launches. Am I even warranted on gripping about this? |

Oh with the blipping, from my understanding it has to do with the large throttle bodies. They don't work well at very low RPMS while WOT. Solution: Put on smaller throttle bodies that kill your power, or don't blip the throttle. |

So my understanding of "stumble of idle" is wrong? |

Most people when talking about a stumble, they are talking about pulling away in first gear, bike coughs, bucks, sneezes, jerks, or something similar. The blipping issue affects all XBs regardless of year. Everything on the bike is a trade off, you sacrificed the ability to blip to have a bike that has big enough bodies to feed it at high RPMs. You can blip it to a point, but its kinda like russian roulette. Sometimes I do it out of boredom to see if I can make it stall |
