I have to admit something. I own a Buell and I can't do wheelies.

The first step to the problem was admitting it. The second step was to go to Wheelie School.

I went from being unable to get the front wheel up to being able to pull fairly long first gear wheelies high enough that I could barely see over the instrument panel (please see attached video).

Of course, this was possible mainly due to the modified Triumph Speed Triple at the class. It's set to cut ignition, and then as a last ditch measure, activate the rear brake before you flip the bike over.

With this safety net in place, I made a series of 10 runs, each consisting of about 6-8 passes. The first half of the day was spent with me trying to get enough courage together to hoist the front wheel. With professional coaching and instruction, I nervously passed this hurdle. By the end of the day, I was having a great, albeit nervous time.

I have no idea if I'll be able to wheelie on the street -- without the safety net built into the Keith Code bike, I have nasty visions of me laying horizontal on the pavement with 450 lbs. of Buell on top skidding towards oblivion.

Well, here's the web link:

I'd love to be able to:

a. go to that school

b. have the confidence after wards to do it on my ride.

I have that same vision... a 50 year old guy lying under a one year old Buell. I hit the powerband and cranked the throttle once and the front end lifted further and faster than I thought it would for a 1st gear no clutch wheelie... I kinda lost the desire to do that for the me under bike vision burned into my head!

But would LOVE to be able to go to the school and wheelie without fear!!!!

I did the same school.......I learned on my own bike (honda hornet)

Was pretty good too.

Totally different game on the buell though, my hornet was a streetfighter with Renthal bars.....
Much easier than clipons......
