My local buell dealer has some, just a rod with the plastic (delrin?) bits on the end. Not sure of the brand. Are these an okay way to go or should I get the Trojan Horse or something else online? Easy to install? I think thats going to be my first mod... Then bar end mirrors, fender removal, shorty levers and a drummer . |

And #3 for Dark Horse Moto. I don't know what the dealership wants but I would pay more for the Dark Horse Moto sliders (if they are more). Fit, quality and Keith will not stear you wrong. Small investment for the protection. Does this mean You got the bike??? Pics?? |

There are no sliders but Dark Horse Moto sliders saith the Bastard of Fat. Thou shalt have no other sliders before them. |

+++ on the dhm sliders... a crg blindsight mirror on the left if it's only for legal reasons. F.Y.I, crg, generally expensive. |

Dark Horse Moto it is!!! And yeah CRG is not cheap, I may get some generic bar ends and cheaper levers but we shall see... Only a mirror on the left...? Perhaps... Any recommendations for grips? The traction ones seem nice, most comfortable, maybe any grip mods that lessen vibartions (heavier bar end weights maybe)... I dont know. |

I may get some generic bar ends Take a look at these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Bar-End-Mirrors-Suz uki-Honda-Yamaha-Kawasaki-KTM-Buell_W0QQcmdZViewIt emQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a1205Q7c66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a12Q7c39Q3a 1Q7c240Q3a1318Q7c301Q3a1Q7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_tr ksidZp3911Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem350181363989QQitem Z350181363989QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessorie s They're basically CRG clones, but for $46/pair you can't go wrong. I've got a pair on my bike, after I broke one of my real CRG mirrors in a driveway tipover...doh! I cannnot tell the difference between them and the real deal. |

Thanks that was great! Save's me af ew bucks! How do these effect bar vibration? Are they heavier then stock weights...? |

How do these effect bar vibration? I'm not sure how much effect they have on bar vibration, but the mirrors themselves are rock steady, even at freeway speeds. Are they heavier then stock weights...? Are you referring to the plastic bar end plugs that come stock? They don't weigh much to start with, so yes, the mirrors definitely add a little more outboard weight compared to the plugs. |

Oh, and +1 more on the Dark Horse Moto sliders They'll be worth their weight in gold if I ever need them. They did already save some cosmetic damage to my swingarm in my aforementioned driveway tipover. |

Err ! Thanks Guys I think. After reading this thread I got my sorry butt on American Sport Bike and order a set for my bike. Something I should have done a LONG time ago. I have seen a XB sitting behind the dealer in Indiana that looked a bit like "Ground Beef" so thanks for jarring me into action. I didn't get the fancy one just the Shiny Alu one with the lift groove for the rear and regular for the front. Not being a track rider I thought they'll do the job for me. |

Go for the traction grips. I tried the gel. The tractions fit the shape of your palm and are the most comfortable that I've found. |

Thanks for all the info guys! Anybody else used bar snakes with success? And yeah the traction grips seem nice, might be harder to get (since its not equal shaped) my throttle rocker on but perhaps I wont need it like I did with the R6, due to the upright position. |

That Palmer site has a Front Isolator Saver. I searched here and it didn't seem to be a big problem. Any thoughts? |

Thanks for all the help guys! Just placed my first order to American Sport Bike... Drummer (with core fee so I wont be out a bike while I wait) exhaust Black anodize stealth dark horse sliders for front and rear Traction grips (stock are miserably thin and uncomfortable) Also just realized those bar ends you posted were $46 a pair... I was thinking each! For that price Ill snag them up right now! I think this will be enough mods for now, need to keep the payments flowing for the bike! When I get my tax return or summer comes around (work full time in summer, extra cash on hand) I am going to complete my mods, breather reroute (that will probalby happen sooner), CRG or similar shorty levers, cat eye LED turn signals in front, fender removal and integrated LED lights in the rear and maybe traction grips. Cant wait to see how the drummer sounds and to start transforming the bike into my dream machine cosmetically . |

Dark Horse Moto makes a great product. I have their axle and bar end sliders on my 04 XB12s and the wife's 06 XB12SS. Nice people to deal with too. |

with the lift groove for the rear That's what they call spools. I've found the numb hand causing vibration goes away if I shift down a gear or two. |

Thanks, motor was still breaking in but I am reving it up into its sweet spot now and the vibrations are much less bothersome, still fun to lug around every now and then... Got the sliders installed yesterday! Dark Horse Moto anodized black front and rear. Also got my traction grips on! |

Froggy I'm jealous! My local dealer only has one little shelf in the corner with a couple shirts and hats on it. No hard parts or anything even remotely close to what you have there. |

+1 on jealousy ... all I have is an after-thought aisle with some t-shirts, a few helmets, 2 or 3 upgrade parts, and alot of catalogs. Everything is 'special order', so the $10 shipping fee on all orders eats up the 15% Buell owner discount ... (Message edited by captcaz on March 28, 2009) |

Got Darkhorse sliders on my TT, black on the back to go with the swingarm & ally on the front to match the forks. Off the shelf, from Central in Austin, They're a great crew there & really look after their customers. (specially the strange foreign ones!) Was that a good enough plug Jay? |
