Was it ever determined if there was a way to get the Kick Ash translucid airbox cover WITHOUT the "X" tank pad? I tried a search, but couldn't find anything definitive.

Thanks!

Yes! You just need the right part number. Which type do you want, with the vent in front or without, and also do you want decals? Oh yea which decals, the 05-06 that say "American Motorcycles", then there is the 07-08 that are silver but don't say American motorcycles, and then the new 09 one thats black and blue but also does not say American motorcycles.

M2224.4A8MCD - Kick Ash, no decals, no X guard.

I am having a hard time figuring out the other P/N's I got with decals, but looks like all of them have the X guard.

Cool, thanks!

I didn't know there was a version that DIDN'T have the front vent. Does the above part number have the vent? I have an '06, so I don't have the hole-in-frame air intake.

Yes forgot to mention it has a vent, you might be right, I can't find a non-vent part number.
