So... Anyone use Pledge to clean/wax their bike? cheap and easy to use. I had been using it on my vstars paint for a few years, going to give it a try on the Buell and just wanted to see if anyone else had gave it a try. makes the bike smell lemon fresh too |

Huh, never thought of that. I tried real car wax on the frame once... bad idea. Had to cut it off with WD-40. Does Pledge leave a residue like that? ~SM |

nope, need to reapply every time you wash. the soap and water takes it off. |

Leave Pledge to the furniture. Try Plexus. It is made for plastic, and it works great on cleaning the wheels too: leaves a shiny surface that wipes right off. Its available at many motorcycle stores. Not sure about HD though.

I thought this thread was going to be about some Fraternity initiation or something... |

I use Pledge on my wakeboard boat after every use. Leaves a nice shine and helps eliminate water spots. Never thought about using it on my bike. |

I've been using pledge for sometime after I wash it to give it a nice shine. It's always around, but maybe I will try that Plexus stuff... |

Most of the motorcycle dealers in my area sell Plexus. I keep a small can in my saddle bags in a cotton sock and use it on my face shield and windscreen. It works great. |

Honda Spray polish is what I use. +1. Works great. Take the little can on long rides to clean face shield. Cheaper than Plexus. |

I've had bad luck with most all that stuff. I used some kind of cleaner and a polish from the same manufacturer on a dresser windshield for a year or so and the damned windshield delaminated. Water costs less and won't hurt it. Pledge is another bad memory. Under no circumstances, never, ever use it on your seat. No matter how shiney it makes it. I've tried that Honda wash too and could not tell the difference between it and water as far as it's ability to clean normal road splooge. As a matter of fact, the only cleaners I use are, well, um, ok. I perty much don't clean shit much. Especially on my Uly. She looks better with mud and bugsplat than she did brand new. She's kind of an ugly bitch though. The splooge gives her more personality. I have another bike that looks better clean but she aint lookin all that spiffy these days either. Maybe I should squirt pledge on her. (but NOT ON THE SEAT!) lemon fresh? |

l've used ProtectAll for years. Smells a lot like Pledge. It has Carnauba wax and UV blocker. Spray on and wipe off. Works real well and quick to use. 6oz can is easy to pack, too. http://www.protectall.com/pawaxlg.htm |

Been using pledge and/or the dollar store lemony variety for years on all my bikes. Works pretty well. |
