you do NOT need the race kit to use the K&N filter, it's a nice improvemtent all by itself.

Rueben--how long did Tucson HD tell you it would take to get the 12 airbox? did they get you a decent price? I plan on ordering one Monday after reading the threads on it, along with a K & N. We still need to hook up some DRY weekend for a ride!

yeah i know we really need to hook up for a ride, i was suposed to meet up with bart today but it was way too wet. I had a friend go down at like 35 mph last night right next to me, kinda freeked me out w/ rain riding. He hit a Spot in the road where they sealed a bunch of cracks. His hand is hurt a little and ego and his bike is scratched but thats it.
I only have sunday's off so bart is talking about setting up another ride for a sunday i will be at that one for sure!
As far as the airbox go's I ordered it on wen. and they said it will take one week. So wen morning you bet ill be calling them to see if its in. The price was 34.95 and 37.61 after taxes. I want to get the k & n also but im trying to find a place to buy it cheaper.

Reuben...

You might have trouble finding a K&N someplace other than HD. This summer I talked to a K&N guy who fessed up to K&N providing the filters for the factory race kit... from what he said... HD has exclusive sales for the XB K&N filter for one year or two years after they started providing them for the race kits.

I could be wrong... but that is what I was told when asking why it was not in the new K&N catalog.

B_A_B check out the storm fronts forum. There is a thread channel for those of us in AZ. I am in Phoenix/Glendale and we just did a ride this last weekend.
