Are the rear pegs for my 04 XB12s Buell specific? Do I need to go to a dealer to get them? I just got some down assemblies pretty cheap off of Ebay and need to get some pegs. Thanks.

As long as they are rear set pegs, any should work. I have a set off an 03 on my 07 that I bought from a BadWebber. Try the classifieds here first. Someone may have a set being used as paper weights.

Do they need to Buell specific?

I see what your saying. Like, could a GSXR peg fit a Buell? That I don't know. I'm guessing if you can find something close, it may take some minor mods to make them work.

What are you thinking about doing? You can get the Buell specific ones pretty cheap.

There is some cross-over for peg design, but the holes/sizes/dimensions must match up to work. You'll have to try them out and see...

I bought Buell rider pegs, and put the standard ones on the passenger mounts.

Thank Gunut75. That sounds like a great idea.

Gunut I've done that too (with the 1" drop rider pegs) for periods with a pillion (the drop is more comfortable). It is possible to bend the detent plate to get them to stay up most of the time but they still fall down when folded up for solo riding.

There is not enough metal on the rider pegs to drill the hole for the spring and ball.

This is why Rocket I think it could be difficult to get another bike's standard pegs to fit as Buell Passenger pegs.

The Buell pegs are really low cost. If you wanted something good looking you could check out the Buell Traction Pegs or the LSL pegs that they have on American Sport Bike

I just put the springs back in the stock pegs on the passenger mounts. Those -1 in. rider pegs are for me. I need them, being 6'2" on an XB R. The 04 XB has a spring set-up on the pin. I may look into that. I'll be fiddlin with it for a bit.
