heyy all, i just bought a 2009 xb12scg and it is still at the dealership being serviced. I was wondering if there were any compartments built into the bike, say, for the reg. or what not?

I have an 08 and not really any compartments. I would try to get them to throw in a tail bag they are good for that kind of small stuff. I've seen people tape them to underside of the seat. Good luck on your new bike, I love mine. I would recomend Dark horse motors sliders, just in case...

Or, just get a small tank bag.
New Enough has some that are DIRT cheap now,

Reg and ins card go into a ziploc baggie and get placed under the battery hold-down strap. That way they're always with the bike.

2 things I agree with:
1) get the Rapid Transit/ Joe Rocket bag posted above. I have used 5-6 tank bags over the years, this one is my favorite for daily use.
2) don't put your reg in the tank bag, it won't be on the bike when you remove the bag. Do put the reg in a ziplock under the battery strap. : )

I bought a firebolt bag off ebay and modified it to work on my Lightning.

The Buell tailbag works great for wallet, cell phone, ball cap, etc. Well worth the money and I think it looks good on the bike - matches the shape and curves of the back of the seat.
Keep the registration/insurance card under the seat. I keep it double zipped locked and stuffed in a Crown Royal bag and always know where it's at - on the bike!
