All i got is a Jardine pipe everything else is stock bike runs fine it has the deceleration popping but not bad at all, is it time to have xopti tune it with his magic?

Isn't the Check Engine (cylinders) orange or yellow and the oil one red? Better check your oil level. NOW!

That's the check engine light. It could be any one of several things. Your owners manual is a good place to start. If you don't have one you can download a copy at Buell.com.

I know on my 04 model, the check engine light is red. Doesn't the ECM store error codes that crop up while riding? See if you can have one of the Buell techs at your local harley check it out for ya.

IIRC the 08/09 check engines are orange.

u gotta 05 check engine should be red.

If you bike overheats the light will come on and you bike will go into spark skip mode. You will defiantly know when that happens. It might just be a sensor hiccup, cuz it came and went.

You can read and clear historical engine codes yourself. Be careful, it just indicates that a sensor is out of a specified electrical range.

With a jumper wire installed between terminal 1 and 2 of the Data Link connector turn the ignition switch on and wait 8 seconds for the engine lamp to start flashing. The trouble code is preceded by six rapid flashes, then a 2 second pause, then the first digit, another 2 second pause, and the second digit of the trouble code. It will report multiple codes, and repeat the data string once all codes have been sent.

Here is a picture of the data link with terminals 1 and 2 marked for future reference.

11 Throttle Position Sensor
13 Oxygen Sensor
14 Engine Temperature Sensor
15 Intake Air Temperature Sensor
16 Battery Voltage
21 Interactive Muffler Control (XB12 only)
23 Front Fuel Injector
24 Front Ignition Coil
25 Rear Ignition Coil
32 Rear Fuel Injector
33 Fuel Pump
35 Tachometer
36 Cooling Fan
52,53,54,55 ECM failure
56 Cam Sync Failure

IIRC, to clear codes you have to turn the bike on and off like 50 times.

Right side air scoop debate is going to be sparked now. I personally think they are useless, but that's just my two cents.

I wouldnt worry about it unless it stays on. a few months i had 3-4 days where it would come on for a min-two then go off. never came back on since. sometimes just gets hot. 08 though

im gonna order the ecmpspy cable this Friday or asap and see if its got a code stored, does anyone else thinking the xb12`s pull past the factory 6800? i hit it the rev other day for the first time and it felt like it was still pulling like a freighter train. I heard the 08`s have a higher rev limiter 7200?
I would like to raise mine if indeed it is still making power or making even more power up to 7200....what is everyone's thoughts on this?? i don't think 500rpm more will hurt it....is there a sit ewere i can download the owners manual wihtout paying ofr it..lol...Im low on funds right now and can use all the help i can get. I need to know the basics how to adjust the suspension for two up riding, air pressure, how many quarts to change the oil and how to do it. I wrench on all my cars so I do all the work, If i have to buy the manual I will but if I can find it online thats my best bet for now thanks for everyones thoughts and responses

Owner's manual is available free at Buell.com.

I wouldn't be looking at the RSS. The temp wasn't hot enough for that to be an issue. The problem was something else.

Just check the code before you go buying stuff to fix a problem that isnt there : ). As for the rev limiter, they improved the oil lines and such I believe to help get those higher revs on the 08/09 models. Upping the limiter on an 05 could cause some damage.

I found th elink for the 2005 models wich has all the info I need for my 2006 XB12scg

now i need to
1. change the oil
2. set the suspension for two up riding
3. set air pressure in both tires
4. buy frame pucks & install
5. get it tuned by xopti

any other suggestions, bike is running good enough for now just worried about the a/f ratio since I changed the muffler. seem sto run fine to me but you never know whats going on as far as cylinder temps and exhaust temps.

do I need it re tuned just with a muffler only no air box mod here. muffler was the only thing Ive done to it
