yup, after over 17K miles stock I finally got a new exhaust. I got a great price on a polished race can that was to good to pass up so I got it and had buckinfubba ship me an ecm, K&N filter, and a 12 air box. My stuff arrived Tuesday of last week, and the first thing I did was put on the 12 air box. The improvement on just the 12 box was great you could really feel a 3-4 hp gain across the whole range and the throttle just felt sharper. The reason I wanted to modify the bike was coming off an X1 Im not used to having to avoid a hole in the rpm range. Since I commute on the XB everyday I find my self stuck in that hole in the 3500rpm range when the highways are congested. Anyhow the 12box felt like an improvement you would pay 300 bucks for. After a couple of days I decided to put the K&N filter on. I thought that combination would be even better, but not necessarily. The filter seemed to take a chip of the edge of the sharpness I had with just the 12box. I did however notice it improved that hole in the 3500rpm range, not much but enough to notice. I also noticed it pulled real hard and strong at 4500rpm, but I preferred how the bike responded without the race filter. So finally this Saturday I took my race ECM & exhaust to one of the best Buell dealerships in southern CA(Glendale) and had them install the race ecm & polished race can. When I got it back it was like a night and day difference, It was a lot louder than I thought it was going to be. It sounds good, not as good as the V&H on my X1, but a lot better than stock. As soon as I got on the highway I noticed the power difference right away, best of all that hole in the 3500rpm range was gone. It felt real strong almost the same as my X1. Then next day Sunday I rode around one of my favorite canyon roads (Angeles Crest hwy) and the bikes performance surpassed my expectations. It did have some popping in the lower gears but not often. It does have a small dip in the 4000 rpm range now but it’s not big a deal. I was real happy with it but was looking forward to Monday, for my scheduled track day. This was going to be my third track day on the firebolt and just did my last track day a month ago in December. Again it surpassed my expectations and pulled hard and strong in the tight technical 16 turn track I was on. I did notice that small dip more in the 4000rpm on the track and the bike seemed to lag a little coming into a new session almost as if it needed to warm up or something then it would go away after the first lap. It was a good track day and the bike performed well overall and really impressed me. Im giving the race kit and 12 air box a Big thumbs up . The difference to me was huge, and definatly worth the cash. ill post some pics of it below.

How did you do that can? Just polish the Buell factory can? If so, can you share the polishing process steps? It looks awesome.

Thanks
