I was wondering if anyone was in the SF Bay Area with a modified exhaust. I have a XB9R and am trying to find an exhaust, well just a slip-on, not a complete system. I want to hear the exhaust in person...youtube just isn't cutting it anymore. I am particularly interested in Drummer, D and D, Special OPS and Jardine. If you have these, or one that you think I should hear, I want to meet up! Thanks...

Stick to drummer and Special ops...

DD and Jardine have some weak points in the curve, all four will benefit from retuning your fuel but the drummer and special ops work great stock or modded, also D and D is very expensive and Jardine has some quality issues.

Overall I belive drummer is one of the best out there from my research, Voodoo is also nice (not available right now, taking a month off).

They all sound amazing ; ). Just get one and be surprised!

Thanks- great advice. I heard that the brackets break often with the Jardine too. Is Voodoo the same idea as Special OPS? I looked Voodoo up on the internet but why are they taking a month off? Is it something about product quality? A recall type thing?

Yes voodoo and one of the drummer models is just like the special ops, voodoo even has info on DIY exhausts.

And no its not quality control its his wife recovering from surgery and its only a job on the side for him so he has to take a short break...

But drummer is probably just as good, not sure which use the valve, if thats a problem, but should be easy to look up.

Voodoo is a new pipe, it only recently appeared on here. I honestly know nothing about it, so I can't say anything about it yet.

Jardine is the cheapest pipe, but you get what you pay for. Poor fitmint, needs constant repacking.

Special ops and Drummer are nice. Special ops is cheaper and retains the valve, drummer does not use the valve, but that does not matter as you have a XB9. You will be happy with either one.

The race pipe if you can find one is another excellent pipe. It is a little quieter than the Drummer, but has a nasty flat spot in the power curve right at 3000-4000 rpm (on XB12 at least).

Svtcali! Whenever I get a buell we have to meet up, Ill buy you some coffee and we can do some riding, just so I can hear that pipe!

One of the first things I want to get for the buell, when I pick a buell up that is, is a pipe. Hate the lawn mower sound.

Probably either drummer or special ops but I like that the SO's uses the valve and also I believe its a lot cheaper...

Doesnt seem to look as nice as the drummer though when all finished... But its underslung so who cares?

Will do...

Most likely test riding a used XB12R on Saturday, as well as possibly a KTM Duke 690 and a Triumph Street Triple (other two bikes I was looking into but duke is not good enough for longer rides and ST is a bit on the fast side, I want power but not speed).

Cant find anyplace with a demo XB12Ss or XB12Scg, and dont want to ride a brand new one for the demo but atleast Ill know from the XB12R whether or not I like the main idea of a buell (AKA, the engine) and then I can try and find other bikes to ride that are lightnings or just go sit on both some more and decide, either way (Ss or Scg) I think Ill be happy. And if the 12 just feels really fast I may test out an XB9SX but I think the 12 is the way to go, I still want power and even the 12 is said to be wimpy in the straights compared to my R6 which is just to high strung, high reving and fast.

About 95 percent sure Ill be there now, a little before 7.

Young looking guy, (17), short dark hair, 2005 Yamaha R6 Raven (Black bike for those that dont know Yami's)...

Ill keep my eyes out for an Scg or other buells!

And if anybody wants a chance to ride the R6 be my guest, I have been dying to ride some more buells before I buy an XB12Ss, I have a good bit of miles under my belt on various bikes (for my age) and am not all about wheelies and stoppies and triple digit speeds, just a cruise around town would be killer.

Fun time!

Had to leave around 7:45, seemed like that was right around when the scene was really picking up but it was still pretty packed and interesting.

Met Matt and saw some other familiar faces from various rides and repairs.

svtcali2000 - I sent you a private message, but not sure if it worked. I will definitely be in your area on March 28 and 29. If you are able to meet up, that would be great. I can meet you anywhere at any time.
