I lost that sticker thats on the front right fork leg to prevent the clutch cable rubbing the fork leg. As is turns out that sticker does a great job. My fork now has a sizabe groove worn into it. Ive tried other stickers, even aluminum tape but it just wears through that too. Anyone know what the original sticker is made of, or have any suggestions for an alertnative as my Buell guy doesnt have any in stock. | ||

I can't say for certain.I've just recently removed my forks.I saw that sticker of which you speak.I'll pay MUCH more attention to it when my forks return from service. I'm convinced the sticker is made from "scotchguard" material. I picked up a roll of tape some years ago from Ace Hardware that is very similar, but not quite as thick. Picked it up to stop cable rubs on my mountain bikes. It's made for sealing up house windows in for the winter and I think it was called tuck tape. Looks like a roll of clear packaging tape, but the tape is much thicker and just a bit rubbery so it can stretch and form a bit. I've had great luck with it on all my MTBs. | ||

Rocker Tape. Used for the rocker panel of cars and trucks, local Auto Body supply place should have the stuff. | ||

as usual, Thanks for the replies. Can someone explain more, whats a rocker panel? where would I find that on a car? sorry Im a retard but i need to know what Im talking about if i have to go hunt for it the local auto shop----big language barrier problems here. | ||

It's the panel below the door. Sometimes the manufacturer puts a protective film there to resist rock chips. Good call by Hammer. Should be great if you can find it. The tuck tape I mentioned would be a close second, but I think it's a bit thinner. | ||

Paul, Google is very helpful for looking up unfamiliar terms. You do deserve a thumbs up for not knowing terms relating to those 4 wheeled things with such bizarre random motion. And, as Spring is approaching, remember the French word for automobile: chicane. | ||
