Hi, name is Chris I actually just purchased a 2009 xb9s about 3 weeks ago (first bike)

I absolutely love it.

I've noticed pictures of bikes with that tail piece that holds the tag removed.

I was wondering if that is a piece I can buy and replace myself, or if I have to make something.

Also I was thinking of replacing the big mikey mouse ear mirrors with something else, just don't know what's out there, or if there is anything.

Thanks.

Are you thinking of shaving the tail down? I did that and it looks sweet.

Go to the sponsor section and go to specialops. You send your tail to him and he cuts and paints it. I believe Odie charges $150.

O yeah, you can cut and shape it yourself, you just need the tools.

Also, those CRG's above are the best bar end mirrors money can buy. Excellent product. If you're like me, you want the best for your bike. Whats the point of throwing on some cheapo mirrors on a $11,000 bike.

@sfinton

I actually just saw that, I'm curious, does the year model make a difference? I just don't want to order an older part to put on the 09 and not have it fit.

As far as mirrors go, as a less expensive option, try your local sporting goods/mountain bike shop. You can get some pretty good mirrors for $10-15.
