A short while back, a post was made on the 1125R board about the new American Sport Bike seat release pins. That thread must be driving a lot of sales for 1125's, since we're selling the 1125 version about 5 to 1 over the XB version. That kinda surprised me because there are WAY more firebolts out there than 1125's. So I figured I'd put a post here so that folks that only peruse the XB board know of them too. The firebolt ones are 1/4-20, the 1125 ones are M6. The part is the same, but the pin orientation is different for a stock vs a corbin. Both are shown with the lanyard in the out position, after installing as shown, you just tuck the lanyard in under the plastic. About time I ordered a set... this is way cool. I replaced the subframe on my racebike and one of the mounts is stripped. Heck, I can screw the pin in place (holding onto the Rivnut flange) and I'll be good to go! Nice! | ||

I installed the seat pin kit last week on my '07 XB9R and wish I would have known about it 2 years ago. This is a must-have upgrade. So nice not to have to remove screws to lift off my seat. Very well executed hardware, and easy to install. Thanks Al! | ||

I'm thinking for racing when you have the seat off so often for adjusting the shock and fooling with the battery. I shoulda ordered one for Higbee and another for Pinson. | ||

I've got the Buell red Pegasus seat on my Firebolt The foam is denser so it is really hard to lift it to unscrew and almost impossible with the angled Torx in the tool kit. The seat has been permanently crushed from folding back the corner to unscrew it. I've got mine on order and I wish they'd been out sooner. | ||

"What timing...I have been thinking about making something like that." I also had thoughts of doing this myself, but after seeing what Al had already done I knew 20.00 was a steal for the kit. I am a terminal measure once and cut too short kind of guy, so I saved $$ just buying the kit! | ||
