I need some help on the charging system for my 08 XB12r. I came out a few days ago and noticed my battery was dead. I charged it up and the bike ran fine but threw a cel for low battery and interactive exhaust. I tried to do the test from the service manual but it appears the 08's are different. I only have two 2 pin plugs coming from the VR. When I put a voltmeter on the battery I'm getting 12.5v with the bike off and 12.2volts at idle. The voltage does climbs in little steps while at idle. I wanted to do the AC test but i'm not sure if I have the correct plugs. Any help would be much appreciated

Check see if your battery terminal bolts are tight. Turn your bike on again and test the voltage with the bike Running at 3000RPM.
If it's showing between 13.00 and 14.9 its not the charging system. Anything under it could be the reg or Stator. Anything above its the Reg.
If tested fine then have your Battery load tested, any automotive store should be able to test it for you.

Thanks for the quick response, I just went out and tried that and I'm reading about 13.23 volts with the bike off and at 3k I'm getting 12.25v. We have a load tester here at work and the battery tested ok.
