So I bought this bike brand new and did the break in properly and at 2000 miles took it to Al at american sport bike, five minutes away at the time lucky me. Put on the D&D exhaust, open airbox kit, and Al personally remapped my computer. Now at 8700 miles the bike is running a bit rough at lower RPMs. I wish I had a better way to explain it but it feels like I am towing something. Took it to a dealer$hip and they replaced my plugs and reset my TPS. They said that it is still rough at low RPMs and the only way to fix the bike is to return it to stock. They also said they do not recommend any aftermarket mods to Buell. Any suggestions, advice, similar experience???

This is to protect the dealer. If they recommend you start changing things and now you have issues, naturally you will point the finger at the dealer.

How well does the bike idle? I would get an ecmspy cable and reset the tps yourself. That's the first thing i'd do, then you can atleast see what the AFV looks like.

1000-2500? I not exactly sure what your describng, but every 1200 buell i've ridden is a lil rough at that low... the 1200s like to be at 3000 or higher

just my .02

Yes, even with a stock tune, the 1200's stumble all over the place below 3k rpms, even 3500. That's always been my biggest complaint with Buell... they claim it's designed for the street, but you have to run it like you're in the track.

The open airbox kit which you have smooths out the low end. It isn't perfect, but I can ride all the way down to about 900 RPM no problem.

Did you mean 1900?

reset the TPS & AFV....should be good to go.

Dealerships tend to mess up a TPS reset for some reason so I would do it again just to be sure...

When I put a new 4 wire O2 and a new ETS on my 07 XB it ran perfectly for about 400km and then went back to its old ways.

So perfectly it was very nearly boring to ride.
