With Pirelli's Diablo ad and other suggestions for tires on the XB I was perusing sizes and making comparisons. Would switching to a 120/65/zr17 be a good idea? My basis of this is it is a more common size for performance bikes then the 120/70/zr17 that is on there. Is my thinking sound?

Don't quote me, but I would imagine that it would "help" after the switch to make sure that you then raise the front ride height... The profile is also different when compare to the original sized rear, so maybe there is a change at the rear that you could make as well to offset that change in the front. Don't go by my post alone though please, there are people on this board that know MUCH more about this than I do.

The 120/65-17's and the 120/60-17's are MUCH less common than the 120/70-17's. Some of the DOT racing tires only come in 120/70-17.

ok my bad...I was looking at the wrong set of bike notes when I wrote that. I had gotten the sheet for my ninja switched with the tire sheet for my XB. Never mind you can keep moving, nothing to see here. I was going to ask just the opposite of what I wrote if going from a 65 series to a 70 series would be a bad idea and put it in the quickboard...

if your bike had a 120-70 stock, BAD idea to change- can lead to a real stability problem!

Bigblock I had too much going on at one time and wrote the question backwards and in the wrong forum. I wanted to go the other way from a 120/65 TO a 120/70 for exactly what Bigj said, it is a more popular fitment.
