can came in yesterday when i came home from work any advice before i tear into it? doesnt seem to hard at all after its done Im getting xopti to remap/tune it can wait anyone with experience with this pipe I bought it for the sound not looking to make way more power just sound better and make sure its ridability is not comprimised any comments that may help me out. do i need a bike jack stand or can i do it in my breezeway without a jack? is there directions for the install? didnt even open the box yet  (Message edited by dgrobels on January 27, 2009) | ||

I could imagine if you have changed your oil, you have done 90% of the job (removing the chin). The other 5 would be removing the old and 5 installing the new. | ||

Use plenty of hi temp rtv on the elbow joints. And maybe forget putting the chin fairing back on, the jardine brackets kick it down funny. Yes you can do it with no jack. | ||

I had some trouble with mine.. just small things. Just take your time man..remember its not a race, your not a pit crew so it doesnt matter how long it takes. | ||

I just installed one on mine, I took someone elses advice from Badweb and made a rear axle lift by sticking a 2 foot long 3/4" steel rebar spike from Lowes thru the axle and propping it up on jackstands. Worked great for holding the bike upright. I did notice the chin fairing looked a little odd afterwards. | ||

Your going to have to disconnect one of your oil lines because it runs through the stock bracket. so drain your oil, and have an oil pan handy when you disconnect that line. Do use the stock bracket instead of the one that came with it, and do use ECM spy to help you tune it and get ride of the decelleration popping. Good luck, You will enjoy that pipe! | ||

I cut my bracket... I cut a slot with a dremmel just big enough for the oil line. | ||

Make sure to use sensor safe RTV on the pipe joints. Regular RTV will destroy the O2 sensor, I'm told. | ||

my friend put it on today and it sounds great and it was damn cold riding it but it was all worth it, I need to do the air box mod and need info or picture on how to do it can I do a search for it, then its time to get it tuned once it gets a lil warmer out, wait till march to tune it cause I don't plan on riding it much until then, I don't ride it hard and no popping and seems to be running good but Im sure Miek can make it alot better | ||

No need to cut the bracket or drain the oil. Just leave the dip stick screwed in and you can plug the oil supply hole with your finger as you remove the bracket with the other hand. Worked well for me, only lost a few drops of oil. | ||
