So, I've had my XB12R for sometime now, but I have never adjusted my suspension until just last night. I adjusted it in accordance to the manual for quick steering since I like most are all about the curves and corners. When I adjusted it, for the first time ever, I realized just how far off it has been set for my riding weight.
My question is, do you remember when you did yours for the first time and how much of a road gripping difference did you feel? Are there any tips you might have to dialing it in just ride?

I have a tip;
I found that it required a slight adjustment for cold weather. I think this is covered in the manual.

I remember the factory damping for my bike was close, but my preload for the rear shock was way off. It was set up for someone 40 lbs heavier than me. The dealer must have adjusted it for test riding.

And +1 to what Panhard dan said. Cold weather makes your front fork and rear shock oil thicker, which produces a stiffer ride.

Thanks... I just saw this site at the advice from another Bueller. For those who havent seen it before and would like to set there suspension for some awesome riding might want to try it out.

I'd say set it up to your weight and leave it there.. dont scroll down the suspension page for 'more precise' mumbo jumbo....
I've had a bad experiance with tuning the suspension so I leave it stock-to-weight, it's predictable

You want to adjust your suspension when the fluid in the forks/shock are warm....so go ride it a bit, then adjust, then ride, then adjust, then....well you get the point.

This will give the best results......

As you become a better rider, you will need to adjust some more.....This really is a never ending quest for traction...LOL

WOW!! I think I know what you mean. I did my adjustments to the specs on that site, and I think I'll stay with a softer,slower steering for now. That was crazy, the steering was so fast that the bike just wants to get you down to ride tight corners. Since its winter out still and cold as hell my guess is it would be a bad idea to keep it like that rightnow. The setting basically gave me a totally different bike all together...I had no idea it could be that aggressive, Im really looking forward to warmer weather when the road (asphalt) is about 80 degrees.
All I can say is "INSANE".
