I need yalls help. I have looked all over and talked to a lot of helpful people but I would like your honest, bias opinions. I have the Race pipe on my 08 12R and do not know what to do about the ECM. I can not use ECM spy or Direct Link due to the new reflash, and frankly, I am not comfortable with all that is involved with tuning myself. So lets here it, Powerizer or the Twin Tec?

ECM Spy does work on and is available for the 2008's as well as the 2009's. Check out Opti's website, sorry i don't know the address but I'm sure someone here does.

Hey Arctic,

Sorry this took so long, I did get your PM, just been seriously busy lately! I'm completely satisfied with my Twintec. It has been 100% reliable, even in varying weather conditions. However, you will need a dyno to tune it correctly. I haven't looked into it, but the instructions for the tuner mention something about a plug in module that can generate the parameters to put into the tuner by just riding around for a while. This might be an option if you don't have access to a dyno. Hope this helps.

I have a dyno readily availible. Im not sure what is involved with the tuning for the Twintec. Does it come with the software? I know I have to buy the interface cable. It will be installed and dynoed by my Harley shop who does not sell Buell anymore. Schmitty, do you have the settings or a good base line for that Race pipe and A KN. I would just like a good base to start from.

Artic,
Does your bike run like sh!t or something? With those mods, the ECM should be able to compensate. I currently have a Drummer and a K&N installed, and by spring i'll have on an open air box kit, and a catch can kit. I plan on running it with the stock ECM only.

I don't have the race pipe on my bike, I've got a Micron. The Twintec comes with everything you need to get started. It does come with a software CD. It just piggybacks into the wiring harness at the ECM Deutsch connectors. For what I paid for it and the performance gains I got, I would definitely recommend it! If you've got anymore questions, feel free to ask.

Boney, my bike has a little less response on take off and low RPM. Thats the only thing I have noticed along with decel popping, witch I know is normal to an extent. I just want it done right.

Schmitty, did you have any parameters to go off of or did you just adjust on the dyno?

I had it tuned by Terry Galagan at Hal's, who is now working on the Buell AMA program. You are supposed to start with everything set at 0 and do a baseline dyno run, then adjust accordingly. Since it piggybacks the injectors, if you set it at 0 it will run off the ECM program. After the base run, you adjust the tuner to add or subtract fuel in the specified rpm ranges specified by the tuner. And by the way, you have to use the stock ECM with this system.

Hey Schmitty, the HD shop has my Twintec installed and welded the O2s in and ready to dyno in the morning.  The tech called me and had a question about the tuner and I wanted to ask you.  The tuner tables only go up to 6500 RPMs.  Is there something else I need?  I have the advanced table kit.  Did you have the same thing?  Im sure it will be okay just wanted to ask.

I didn't have anything special installed. They just used what was there. Either way, I think you'll be alright.

Boney, I got to ride it today for a few miles and it was great. Nice and smooth all the way through. It was a great modification. The bad thing is that it is harder to keep the front wheel on the ground, but I don't use the front one much anyways.

A-12, would you tell us what the #'s on your tuner are between 1 and 9 as well as the manufacture date on your ride? A point of refference is a great place to start!
Thanks.
