Seen the video and it brought back some fond memories of doing the same thing at 40+mph. |

FWIW, I use R&G frame sliders on all of my XB's. They have saved my frames at least 1/2 a dozen times. It bolts to the front motor mount and is the best design I've seen. On one occasion I slammed the bike down extremely hard on the left side. Hard enough to force my head to impact the ground, bounce back up and hit again, hard. There was no forward momentum just a very violent slam to the ground. The slider broke a chunk of the motor mount boss off the front head due to the force of the impact. The new head cost $285.00 whereas a new frame is like $1,100.00 I think. Here is a picture of my son demonstrating how to use one. And no, there were no Buells hurt in the filming of this movie.

Yes I know, I forgot to put the axle sliders on before he went out but we do own and use them (unless we plan on crashing). |

He was alright, just pissed off that he went down and didn't win the race. I call it "The Superman" a stunt set aside for the truly dedicated hard-core rider and not to be attempted by the viewers at home. He is a professional on a closed course. |

I haven't been on here in a while so just stopping through, the XB12 sucks for stunting I've built 2 now. I've stunted my other bikes and these come in last in stuntability. DOnt get me wrong I love the bike for the street but not for the lot. they chug really bad at idle which the XB9 does not. I had two crashes due to the idle hickups, and the powers cages are very big and bulky and they like to break the front engine mounts if you lay them down hard. Just my two cents

Rie, looking good! Seems like I've seen that bike before (probably another stunt thread). Definitely one of a kind. The stunt team here has been riding the 9's instead of the 12's, for the same reason that you describe. They also like the race kit, really smooth with a little more grunt than the stock pipe. |

yeah the bikes are great bikes, but when you get into the really technical stuff like idle circles and no hander circles a 12 is definatly not your bike for that, I think the larger piston size might have something to do with it. but I rock mine on the street all the time now it just not for the lot. I went back to a supermoto for stunting. I ran the stock pipe and tried the jardine on mine. I'll never go back to stock the jardine pipe is bada$$. |

Yeah I still got my jardine and really like it. I've been wanting to get a supermoto for a while to stunt in the lot too. I've been riding fiddies for a few years so I figure it's a lot like those only bigger! I've always thought about learning tricks on a jap bike and then I could always go back to stunt the buell. The Ill Conduct guys started out that way..... |

The 12 also has different gearing due to a different primary chain. Swapping in the XB9 primary might help. |

I think the larger piston size might have something to do with it. The pistons are the same diameter, the 9 piston is physically larger than the 12. The 9 motor is a world smoother than the 12 no doubt. |

If its not the diameter then its the stroke, I odn't know squat about the internals of these bikes. I agree the 9s are better than the 12s, my 12 got me so frustrated when stunting slow stuff I just wanted to be done with it. I came from a cbr954. talk about apples to oranges. I love my 12 for the street though, turns heads everywhere, and it pretty damn reliable too. All the guys I met form team extreme swore by the 9s and said the 12s were junk for stunting. I wish I heard that before I bought both of my 12s. So This is my warning to everyone who wants to stunt an XB. GET A 9 |

It is definately the shorter stroke that makes the 9 so fun. To get the 1203 from a 984 they stroked the motor but kept the same bore. Long stroke V-twins are notorious for that loping you hate so much. |
